We've been here a few times and it's never disappointed. Prices are 25% higher than equivalent restaurants not in the middle of Pisa, but given this is in the middle of Pisa it's not too bad.
Most of the eating space is outside under awnings, with less space inside. Food is pizzas, pastas, regional meat and salads. €10-12 pp.
Service is fairly slow (took 15 minutes to be able to pay), but the food came quickly initially.
Portions are on the small side, but tasty. I had pasta with shrimps and a rich creamy sauce. Very nice indeed.
Catering for kids is decent (they do kids' portions and have high chairs).
None of the restaurants near the Tower/Duomo are going to win Michellin stars, but this is probably the best balance of value and taste. Very busy though, so get there before 1pm for lunch.
