Recommended length of visit: <1 hour
Owner description: The Tower of Pisa (180 feet in height) was begun in 1173 and, due to its faulty foundation on unstable soil, leans precariously more than 14 feet out of line, preventing visitors from climbing its 300-plus steps to the top.

“worth seeing quickly”
Reviewed July 23, 2014

Learn some of the history beforehand so you appreciate it more. You only really need an hour to see everything from the outside and get your pictures. Fun sight to see and such an iconic building, it's worth seeing but no need to spend a lot of time or money on the experience.

“Great place for a 2-hour visit”
Reviewed July 23, 2014

Pisa really deserves a 2-hour visit. Piazza dei Miracoli where the Tower is situated is a nice place to visit and to make photos, but don't spend too much time there. It's great to make several photos of the Tower, but no need to go upstairs.
And be aware that there are too many tourists near the Tower, especially during summer time.

“A World Landmark!”
Reviewed July 23, 2014

You must visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa if simply to get a photograph of you standing next to it. Also, I recommend a guide to explain how it was built, why,and also the leaning of it and how it has been corrected, to some degree. I did not feel the need to go inside as there was a fee for that.

“Classic must do”
Reviewed July 23, 2014

It doesn't matter how many times you see this iconic building on tv or in pictures, seeing it 'in the flesh' is amazing. A must do.

“Loved it”
Reviewed July 23, 2014 via mobile

Took a taxi from the hotel to the tower and it was great. We didn't bother to go in as there was a bit of a line. There weren't a huge amount of people around either. Took loads of photos of the tower and duomo.

Then the rain came and it poured down for about 5 minutes. Everyone scrambled to find some shelter. Got quite wet but was nice and refreshing. Well worth going there, great photo opportunities, nice and clean and no peddlars around.
