This little eaterie was first recommended to me by hotel La Pace and they do recommend it to all of their guests. On my recent 4 day stay in Pisa I ate there every night dining on simple well cooked Italian food and drinking the house wine.If you are looking for fine dining this is not the place to go. However, if you are looking for a place where you can strike up a conversation with any of the other diners, from all over the World, and have a fun night give it a go. The owners shuffle about at their own pace but are really fun when you get to know them. They have been there for 20 years so they must be doing something right.

“Authentic, little Italian ristorante”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

We chose this restaurant after having read the reviews on tripadvisor. The restaurant is very close to the hotel we stayed (Alessandro della spina, which I can also recommend). The place is an authentic little neighborhood ristorante, nothing fancy or trendy but the owners are friendly, the food is perfect and best-value-for-money. What would you want more? I prefer these kind of place to the trendy/fancy ones. We (2 adults and one 4-yo-boy) had a double-meal of grilled fish selection, bottle of water, bottle of nice white wine, 2 plates of selected desserts for only 55 Euro. We were so enthusiastic of the whole experience that we also had dinner there on our second and last night in Pisa. The restaurant was pretty packed when we visited (on a Sunday and Monday night in June) and apart from another couple we were the only tourists there.

Great food, reasonable prices, off the beaten path. Mom and pop run establishment with friendly service. Been to Italy many times over the years and come back here often.

“Highly recommended, good value, non-touristy, Italian restaurant.”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

We went to this restaurant purely on the basis of a great review on Trip Advisor and we weren't disappointed. Everything was great, lovely food, beer and wine. If you like fish try the grigliata mixta (not sure of spelling, but it's on the menu as grilled fish), for a superb plate of various fish and seafood. Giovanni and his wife were unbelievably generous and we returned for a second visit to end our trip. We feel lucky to have found this restaurant and especially it being just 5 minutes walk from our hotel (Allessandro della Spina).
