“You get what you pay for”

Booked this hotel for a surprise getaway to Pisa. Read all the reviews on this site and got a bit worried. I have to say, some of them are a bit exaggerated. Yes, the staff doesn’t speak English to well, but they make an effort, which counts for something. Pool area is great, enough sunbeds (but then again it was end of September). We didn’t eat in the restaurant or the bar (because of the reviews)
Rooms were great. We had a suite with tower view. Air-conditioning worked fine although we found a big pool of water underneath it the next morning. It didn’t bother us so we cleaned it up and didn’t mention it to reception. Bathroom was great with two big showers, didn’t miss a bathtub for a second.
Breakfast was very good. Lots of choice both cold and warm dishes with tasty breads and very nice cakes and muffins. The only thing I would say about breakfast is that they didn’t have fresh orange juice. But the one from the machine tasted fine…
Now about the location: I do agree with some of the reviews. We had a rental car and I can only recommend it to anyone booking this hotel (+/-80€ for 4 days with Maggiore Rent for a little Fiat 500 which was the best thing about this whole trip ). The road to the center of Pisa is easy but it’s a busy road and yes at night you do see some prostitutes. But again, that didn’t bother us.
Finally the whole upkeep of the hotel could be a bit better. Lots of weeds growing on the parking lot, a cluttered reception desk, …
All in all we had a great stay. This is not a 5* hotel like the ones we are used to in London or Paris nor does it provide a 5* service. This is more of a 4* hotel but then again they don’t charge you 5* prices either. Plus, go and have a look at the hotels in the center of Pisa… You’ll be very happy you chose this one.

Our staff is multilingual, this does not mean that every single employee to speak all languages, but that within each department each specialized in at least two foreign languages in order to provide excellent service to all guests. As for the furniture and interior spaces, everything has been studied in detail and we are very happy to know that we have appreciated.
The quality of the service you riconosciutaci makes us honor, everything is designed to make your stay even more special for our guests, solve one small problem received from our guests during their stay in his case is rewarding. The distance from the Tower of Pisa, then from the center, walking is really not much.
The context sleazy mentioned on the adjacent street mortifies and there is a battle that we are fighting every day urging local administration and police, however, everything is right outside the hotel so we believe appropriate and his statement that raises the hotel But we want to reaffirm our commitment to fight the phenomenon.

If you have never been to Pisa, I would asume that you are coming to see the tower and the Piazza del Duomo. Since this is all there is to see you won't stay long. This hotel is great for a few nights. It is clean, quiet and well laid out. The main complaint I have is that the restaurant and bar are seperate entities. You can not charge to your room. They will take credit cards and are very helpful. The bar food was very good but I found the Breakfast just OK.

Room Tip: Away from the front driveway, even though these are the rooms with the balconys.

Stayed at the hotel a couple of weeks ago. We booked an apartment with "kitchen". Little did we know when we got there that there are no kitchen facilities to cook with. We asked front desk to send us some plates and were advised that there will be a fee of 10 Euro to hire the plates...what the??? Considering there were meant to be plates, cutlery etc etc being a room with a kitchen!

The maid then left her master key in our room, which was discovered later in the evening after we put the kids to bed. I went to reception to advise them and they brushed it off. Clearly a security issue, but worst of all, the maid Irene (whose name was on the key), failed to let anyone know, so the key was still active.

The hotel is in an awful location between two main roads...very noisy. The staff are very poorly trained. During breakfast, don't expect your plates to be cleared until you leave...they just pile up...

There were so many people complaining to reception, to the watering staff and they just don't care.

Stay away....

The distance from the Tower of Pisa, then from the center, walking is really not much.
When you arrived you were given an apartment, which for us has the same value for a junior suite. Our apartments, as stated in the website: www.abitaliatowerplaza.it / www.residencetowerplaza.it are equipped with all the comforts of a kitchen and living room all'interro inserted into the cabinet. These apartments are attributed to the same price of a normal room, when it comes to a family in order to allow a better stay as pleasant and very spacious. On our website, it is also reported that do not have any equipment, I do dishes food, have a mini bar filled as a bedroom and a kitchenette. Sorry but his disappointment and his bad review because we required the payment of a loan or the room service dishes utensils to cook there is understandable and quite frankly we find it out of place. In addition, we found that we're talking about a unspent because when it requested explanations, have been provided and you have opted not to receive that benefit.
Our housekeeper in an excess of zeal he forgot his pass in the room, had come to ascertain that everything was clean and in order. .. We regret this inconvenience, but we believe that such an omission can not generate a comment so bad and negative. Finally, we believe that our prices do not reflect the standart hotel 5 star hotels most famous and well-known, this fact is dictated by a precise "police" company, in order to break in the structure, let us know and give way to a variety of people to try, regardless, an emotion, an atmosphere and a structure, which we still believe to be level despite the price at which we go out on the market and the opinion of a few people (and there sorry) that met in his case .
But even discourage a hotel as you have described is very ungenerous and not true.

Really nice staff- very clean and modern facilities with a nice restaurant albeit a bit on the pricey side!
A bit of a walk to town , but has advantage of being quiet at night. Taxis into town only 7 euro.
Local train station handy for exploring the locale- trip to Lucca well worth it!

Stayed here for 2 nights. Look this place is fine for a one night stay in Pisa but thats about it. Its not a five star, really a 3 star. The decor of the hotel is lovely, the room is comfortable. These are the positives. On arrival around 7pm there was a male and female receptionist on. They continued their conversation with each other for 5-10 mins while we were standing there waiting to check in. They were not very friendly and not welcoming. When I asked if our SUITE had a view of leaning tower I was told only the JUNIOR SUITES had a view!! The room had loud air conditioning and the walls are paper thin, could hear tv in next room. The rug around our bed was covered in stains, see photos attached. The bath was small, shower acceptable. However area above shower covered in mould and damp, see photo. Dinner menu had very little selection and service was poor. Again to re-iterate what other reviewers said, the bar and restaurant is owned by different company than hotel. You cannot put food or drink on to your room tab. Do not attempt to walk to Pisa from hotel, get a taxi. No free shuttle service which one would expect from a five star hotel. We were told there was 24hr room service available. When we rang down looking for a room service menu around lunchtime we were told the kitchen was closed and we could have a toasted sandwich.We went down to the bar for lunchm, again told kitchen not open til dinner at 730pm for dinner!!!!!! We were offered focaccia or a toasted cheese and ham sandwich. We went for toasted sandwich, see picture, tasted like cardboard. Not five star!!!! Also glass that came with coca cola was dirty, see photo. People in reviews have said breakfast is good at this hotel, it is absolutely terrible. For coffee/cappucino they have a automated machine where you make it yourself. Dry stale croissants. Watered down carton from concentrate orange juice. Scrambled eggs horrible and cold. Service again terrible. This hotel is grand for a one night stopover but for no longer. It is a 3 star at its best. The decor is lovely and bed comfortable, that is about it. Needs to improve and retrain its staff.

We are sorry to hear that your stay was not in line was in line with its expectations although we remain convinced that our hotel is an excellent structure, where cleanliness, courtesy the availability but also the service make the mark in relation to other structures, such as, among other things, we are recognized by customers that characterize our vast turnover.
How different structures we try to be present and allow the customer the best possible stay, even when the problem occurs.
In his case, the room is conferred on that laid down his book and it was not possible to make up a grate free thing when we can we do for the pleasure of our customers. At 07 00 am in the morning there is a shift change upon receipt, any person on duty in effect trying to assign the room in 'immediately without waiting for the delivery of the rooms check in time or at 14.00 pm, so sufficient to allow the rest. For this operation consulted the monitor, program and talked to each other in order to find the best possible solution. Among other things, our junior suites have a view of the tower of Pisa as well as the deluxe rooms but she had a reservation for a superior room and it was not possible to make a grate for complete hotel. As for the condition of the room and the smell of mold we are providing on a regular basis to sanitize the rooms and routine maintenance ... and extraordinary when you actually had to suffer the inconvenience we apologize but we are sure that it is of an exceptional event.

Sorry for the inconvenience arriving tho the restaurant or the telephone rather than waiting for a bad quality of the product ordered. In our bar you can always have dinner / lunch, but in fact the kitchen opening and closing, so some dishes over a certain time you can not order them. Breakfast starts ends hours 07 00 hours 11 00, lunch starts at 12.30 until the 15th, the dinner starts at 19.30 until 22.30 hours. During breaks you can eat cold dishes, toast, pizza, focaccia or other dishes for a light lunch / dinner.

Regarding the breakfast, please note that the dining staff welcomes our guests and ask them how many rooms and what they like to drink hot drinks like to make a table service, but other than that we also have vending machines where there is a sign clearly displayed in two languages English and Italian reminding our guests that drinks are served at the table, but also offers them the opportunity to use them without problems. We regret that with so many photos taken at our expense not have thought to photograph this or remember it in your review

The positive things about this hotel are many - lovely room, very comfortable, great pool, lovely view of the Tower and good breakfast.

But as the previous reviewer says, don't expect 5 star for this price. It's really not convenient for the centre of town. There are some local issues with the area as previously mentioned - we walked back from town after our meal out but I wouldn't have felt safe doing that on my own.

The taxi to the airport cost 18 euro, not 12-15 as quoted by the hotel staff when we booked. You have to pay cash at the pool bar because it's not owned by the hotel.

My advice would be to read the reviews and manage your expectations - this hotel although lovely, would not suit everyone.

In fact, the price charged for the room is not a price to 5 stars, is a very different prices, reduced, because we are in trial stage, we are confronted with a difficult market, we want to grow together with you, allowing you to share this experience with a reduced price to a larger slice of the market.
His criticisms concerning the outside or from the road that leads to the Tower accompany one of our battle to have the help and assistance of the public in order to re-evaluate this path, with better lighting and resurfacing the road surface, fighting prostitution, but let us note that the hotel itself is not worth mentioning negative to this fact it is far from our walls and not within the direct control, as may be flaws maintenance / outage or other
Regarding the cost of the taxi, it seems ungenerous and inglorious aim of this review because the taxi as throughout the word are public and the fare may vary depending on traffic, the time taken to reach the desired location and the staff of hotel, as she relates, is responsible for more, so she had been given a price. If then the staff erred in price of 3 euro, and this needs to undergo a reaction / negative review, we have no arguments to apologize.

Inherent in the outdoor swimming pool during the summer season as well will have seen we have a nice swimming pool with sun beds and umbrellas in abundance, with a space children but also sun loungers and benches tub, seasonal pool, with water heated by the sun. During the summer, but if the weather permits also the spring you can enjoy your dinner / lunch and breakfast outside. At this time the season is beautiful. We also have a corner spa, a small spa and our site is well specified what it offers and what it is ascertained, including the equipment in place.
For complete information, but we can tell you that we are also finishing a very impressive spa, which we hope to open in December.

Big lovely bedrooms, modern, nicely furnished, lovely public spaces

Nice poolside area - no other hotel in Pisa has a pool


Minus points
Booking a room online promised a pool side view and a bath tub - our first room had neither upon complaining I was told I should have requested these points. really??? we were eventually given the right room with some reluctance.

The pool is unheated and freezing, the pool loungers are the most uncomfy I have ever used- impossible to sit or lie for more than 10 mins

One bar of soap in the entire bathroom so one for both people, and the same one for use by the sink and in the bath and the bidet

No towels in our room- had to wait for these to arrive after requesting them.

No tea or coffee making facilities in room


Other reviews are right- poolside bar is a Seperate company and only takes cash so no charging to your room allowed. This is stupid and means nobody uses it which is a shame because it's a lovely area.


Hotel is at least at 15 minute walk from Pisa San Rosso station so don't bother- just grab a cab from pisa centrale or the airport instead.




So don't expect 5 star because it's not but then the quality of hotels in Italy and Pisa is not great and I think this is the most luxurious you can get. If you want central stay at the allessandro della spina instead!

We are sorry to hear that your stay was not in line with its expectations although we remain convinced that our hotel is an excellent structure, where cleanliness, courtesy and availability are the mark than the other structures, since there is recognized by customers that characterize our vast turnover.

Like any structure, especially in Italy when a client book your room has the right to choose the room that best sees fit, so if you have booked a superior room the reception could not give a deluxe room with a view of the Tower and hot issue because of a higher category with a higher cost. When you operate a grate up but when the hotel is booked in large part it is impossible to make that choice and then attach to each customer actually booked the room. The pool is heated by the sun, with sun beds and beds for hydromassage, this detail is also featured on our website, in Italian and in English, we do not have a swimming pool with heated water. The beds are prepared by a famous design firm "EMO", ergonomic beds, guaranteed to relax and design, we regret that they have appreciated.
With regard to the courtesy line in the bathroom, in fact, consists of a single bar of soap together because there is intimate cleanser, bathroom with shower, bath foam, shampoo, lotion after bath. Could ask for another bar of soap at the reception or directly involved in the plans it would never have been denied.
The bath towels, blue ones for the pool are found in the room upon arrival of the client, but not changed every day thing instead normally for all the linen.
In the room there is a coffee maker or tea, but remember that there is a service room service 24 hours a day. As for the food we have two distinct management but this does not prevent the customer to agree with the staff lounge bar in order to pay the bill at the restaurant desk relating to their residence.
