A beautiful villa situated close to Lucca with beautiful gardens, a pool, and a newly renovated historic villa. The staff is great and the owner on site to help you plan your days and navigate the area. We rented bikes and could bike into Lucca in 10 minutes. Tennis is also close by in addition to a beach 30 minutes away and many other charming towns nearby.
While the villa and staff are excellent, my 10’X12’ room was uncomfortable. I had to live out of my suitcase for the week because the room is too small for a dresser. I had to go downstairs to a bath shared by five people. I think someone misrepresented this room to my family during the planning stages. I paid $2,000 for this room.
Villa Mori was a beautiful villa and a great location to base out for the region. The town of Lucca is incredible and you can make day trips to Florence, Rome, Portifino, Cinq Terre and throughout the Tuscan region. Staff are great and the Villa has all the amenities you could want.
This place was like heaven to all my family and friends..BEAUTIFUL AND Dreamlike.
Thank you Silvia
The Villa is about 5km from Lucca in a quiet location. It is beautifully furnished and well managed. The kitchen is big and well equipped and breakfast service was included which was extremely useful with 18 of us. There is inside and outside dining, and a barbecue which we used. Valeria manages the house and was always very helpful in getting taxis and tours etc for us. The bedrooms are spacious and very comfortable, The pool is stunning and the gardens lovely and peaceful. We will certainly come again.
Beautiful villa and other accommodation in a lovely garden with outside swimming pool. The bedrooms were spacious with ensuites. Large dining room, great for large parties. Very comfortable lounges. Well equipped kitchen.
I have to start out this post by mentioning the crazy heat wave going through Lucca while we were there. 100+ degree days for the entire week were tempered by the whole house air conditioning - not an easy find in Europe! The pool was our other savior and we took advantage of it every afternoon. My daughter (2 years old) was thrilled with the plethora of toys both in the home and by the pool. We (her parents) were thrilled there was a Puddle Jumper (life vest) to help her swim on her own, which extended our pool relaxation time to at least four hours each day! This home was recently remodeled and they spared no expense. The frescos were true works of art and I often caught myself staring at the incredible detail in the painter's work. The accommodations were just perfect. Each room was nicely-sized, with a closet and drawers to hold all of our belongings. The bathrooms were immaculate and cleaned each morning by one of the home's caretakers. We had a wonderful set of chefs to make us breakfast each morning (and, more importantly, clean up!) and the caretakers were all very friendly and excelled in running a multi-million dollar estate with ease. I cannot recommend Villa Mori enough and hope we will be fortunate enough to be back before too long.
