“Modern, stylish appartment with private patio within the city walls of Lucca”

Apartment Angela was a lovely base for our holiday in and around Lucca. It is conveniently situated a few minutes walk from the station. The apartment itself is spotlessly clean, a good size and is furnished and supplied with everything required for a comfortable, relaxing holiday. The secluded and private patio area is a bonus, and a lovely area to sit and relax.
Roberto made us very welcome, and was most accommodating and helpful, particularly as our flight was delayed and we didn't arrive until 10.45pm. He has been very helpful throughout the entire booking process and informative when he met us at the apartment.
There are good restaurants and cafes a short walk from the apartment, and also a bakery and delicatessen nearby.
Owing to the excellent rail links Lucca is an ideal base for exploring Tuscany. This was our second visit to Tuscany. We had only visited Lucca briefly before so it was good to be able to spend time getting to know it properly - in addition to visits to Pisa, Florence, Cinque Terre and Montecatini.

“Perfect apartment and ideal location for exploring Lucca and surrounding area”
Reviewed September 3, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

This apartment was perfect for us - it had everything we needed and is located within easy walking distance of the centre but is a peaceful retreat from the bustle of the city. Roberto and his family welcomed us on arrival and showed us how everything worked from the air-conditioning to the washing machine. The bed was very comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean when we arrived - thank you!

Other issues that might be of interest:-
We had hired a car from Pisa and were unsure where we would end up parking it... we initially used the station car park as only 5 minutes away but in the end managed to get free parking at Via Nazario Sauro which was also just 5-10 minute walk.
We drove as far south as Siena and as far north as La Spezia to take the train to Cinque Terre. Do not bother with trying to park at the station at La Spezia- on street parking is readily available within 10 min walk and is cheaper.
As with many parts of Italy mosquitos are rife - take all appropriate measures!
We ate really well - no bad experiences at all.

“A comfortable and well equipped apartment just inside the city walls.”
Reviewed July 3, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Travel to Lucca from Pisa airport is very easy and the apartment is across the road from the train station just inside the wall surrounding Lucca. You can either go through a tunnel in the wall and then up steps onto the wall or if you go to the right you can go under the wall (easier with heavy bags). The apartment is just inside the wall and whilst it is on quite a busy street once through the door and into the courtyard it is very quiet and peaceful. The apartment is exactly as described. The air conditioner in the living room is very effective and very welcome when it's very hot. The living room/kitchen is comfortable and has everything you need. It is very well equipped. The bed is large and very comfortable and the bathroom is very modern with a good, powerful shower. Plenty of towels are provided. There is a nice seating area and table outside. Roberto and his wife we very welcoming. Lucca is wonderful with plenty to see and do. We walked everywhere (many people bike) but we walked around parts of the wall every day. We also got lost endlessly in the wonderful maze of streets. There are guide books in the apartment and we also googled (using the excellent wifi) to search out different places to see. We enjoyed the Museum of Italian Emigration (buy the very cheap guide book from the shop). On Fridays at 12.00 there's an English guided tour of the Picasso Museum. One of the highlights were the nightly opera concerts held in a local church just a few minutes from the apartment. There were sculptures by Mitaraj in Lucca and also some amazing sculptures both on and within the wall by Gustavo Aceves. There are many other things to visit, churches, museums, art galleries, botanical garden as well as a wide range of shops and of course lots of places to sit and drink and eat and people watch. I would recommend this apartment and would certainly use it again. Many thanks Roberto.

“Pleasant stay in Lucca”
Reviewed October 11, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Angela-Nuovo. The entire apartment is at ground floor level. It is light and airy and recently renovated. Roberto is an excellent host. An important feature is that every need of the guest is accommodated. When the weather is suitable, sitting outside in the private piazzale for lunch or drinks is pleasant. Some may not like the fact that it is a little bit away from Via Fillungo, but we had bikes and could get to San Michaele in about 5 minutes. It was only 5 minutes walk from the station for travel to Pisa or Florence. WiFi speed was good.

“Quiet and well furnished apartment within the walls of Lucca”
Reviewed September 23, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We really enjoyed our stay in Lucca at Roberto's apartment. Within the city walls it was in a great location for the train station, which we used to visit Pisa and get back to the airport. It was exactly like the photographs. Very clean with all the amenities you could need, full kitchen with oven, hob, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. Nice bedroom and spacious bathroom with good shower. Roberto met us at the apartment and explained how everything worked. Left us information of best restaurants and interesting places to visit. Everything was within walking distance and it was a quiet peaceful location to relax after a day sightseeing. Would be happy to return.
