My husband and I happened to see this restaurant as we were strolling one evening down Via San Nicolao near the Porta Elisa, and the atmosphere looked so inviting that we decided to come back the following night for dinner. We are so glad we did! Our server, Elisabetta, greeted us warmly and immediately offered bread and small plates for tasting the gold-medal-award-winning olive oil on our table. It was amazing! Elisabetta translated the menu choices for us and made a wonderful wine recommendation. We enjoyed the bread, olive oil, and a plate of Sicilian cheeses along with our wine for antipasti. After the cheese plate, we both had Pasta ala Norma, which is homemade corkscrew pasta with a beautifully done red sauce and eggplant. It was delicious - the best sauce we've had on our trip to Italy, and we've tried many! We were too full for dessert, but we had mentioned to Elisabetta in passing that we were tempted by the cannoli, so she brought us a small sample free of charge with our after dinner cappuccinos. Do not miss the cannoli!! This restaurant has been open only one week, but I am certain it will become more and more popular. You must visit this restaurant in Lucca!
