Loved everything about this hotel. Very conveniently placed for the centre and old part of Lucca (just a short walk), and near enough to the station without being able to hear the trains. The interior design of the hotel was a masterpiece - they manage to create a wonderful sense of intimacy - a boutique feel without being pretentious. Room size was generous, bathroom was fabulous - marble throughout and everything was spotless. Loved the terrace too. Great breakfast with plenty of choice, and all staff were very helpful. We arrived very late, but they still fed us even though it was well past 10.00 pm. Good free parking and loved the idea of providing bicycles for guests' use - also free of charge. OK, so there wasn't tea/coffee making in rooms, but hey - this is Italy, so don't expect it! Our visit couldn't have got off to a better start. Faultless!

Free parking and not far outside the walls its a good location.
The road outside is busy and exciting to cross but you couldn't here the traffic from our first floor room. Very helpful and friendly staff with coffee and advice on what to do as they readied our room.
Some tours stay here so you could find it busy at breakfast time as we did on one day but no big deal.
We used the sauna and steam room which has to be booked. Flip flops towels dressing gowns provided and only 22 euros for two. we spent 90 minutes relaxing after a day on our feet.
Bikes for free which is great to cycle round the top of the walls its only 3km, flat, wide road. no traffic -wonderful but just be careful getting the short distance to the walls with the Italian traffic

Room Tip: We had a superior number 6 on the first floor and it was good.

We had a wonderful stay at the Albergo Celide. The rooms are spotless and the staff are very helpful. The breakfast was five star, very European with assortment of cold cuts, cheeses, a nice choice of cereals, yogurts, breads. Delicious cappucino. Although outside the city walls it is a short walk to the city. The hotel offers plenty of bikes for the fabulous, must-do ride of Lucca's wall. A bit of a walk from the train but not too bad.

Room Tip: The hotel is on a busy street but our room was in the back and very quiet.

I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews but opted for this hotel since it had parking, wifi and airco. Found the hotel easily and it is literally across the street from the town wall. Parked with no problems and receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Went to our room and, as expected from other reviews, it was very small. The bed took up most of the room and there was a corner unit with chair and a wardrobe. In all honesty, this should be a single room but we were only there for one night and didn't plan to spend much time in the room. Also, the airco didn't seem to be functioning but when we asked at reception they switched it on for us, so every room has it's own control at reception. Other than the size, the room was nice and the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was a good size with lots of shelf space and a great shower. Public areas were very nice and breakfast was pretty good too and was included in the rate. We could have upgraded to a larger room for about 50 euros but it didn't seem worth it for one night. Overall, this is a really nice hotel and I would definitely recommend it, just don't be shocked by the room size! We really enjoyed Lucca and hope to get back one day.

Thought this a good hotel very close to the walls of Lucca although a bit of a trek to an entrance. Good restaurant and bar where we sat outside and had a bottle of wine. Easy to drive to Pisa and Florence. Good base for touring. Parking at back of hotel. Staff very accommodating and plenty of information on places of interest in the vicinity. Some very good restaurants inside the walls of Lucca itself.
