Free parking and not far outside the walls its a good location.
The road outside is busy and exciting to cross but you couldn't here the traffic from our first floor room. Very helpful and friendly staff with coffee and advice on what to do as they readied our room.
Some tours stay here so you could find it busy at breakfast time as we did on one day but no big deal.
We used the sauna and steam room which has to be booked. Flip flops towels dressing gowns provided and only 22 euros for two. we spent 90 minutes relaxing after a day on our feet.
Bikes for free which is great to cycle round the top of the walls its only 3km, flat, wide road. no traffic -wonderful but just be careful getting the short distance to the walls with the Italian traffic

Room Tip: We had a superior number 6 on the first floor and it was good.

We had a wonderful stay at the Albergo Celide. The rooms are spotless and the staff are very helpful. The breakfast was five star, very European with assortment of cold cuts, cheeses, a nice choice of cereals, yogurts, breads. Delicious cappucino. Although outside the city walls it is a short walk to the city. The hotel offers plenty of bikes for the fabulous, must-do ride of Lucca's wall. A bit of a walk from the train but not too bad.

Room Tip: The hotel is on a busy street but our room was in the back and very quiet.

I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews but opted for this hotel since it had parking, wifi and airco. Found the hotel easily and it is literally across the street from the town wall. Parked with no problems and receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Went to our room and, as expected from other reviews, it was very small. The bed took up most of the room and there was a corner unit with chair and a wardrobe. In all honesty, this should be a single room but we were only there for one night and didn't plan to spend much time in the room. Also, the airco didn't seem to be functioning but when we asked at reception they switched it on for us, so every room has it's own control at reception. Other than the size, the room was nice and the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was a good size with lots of shelf space and a great shower. Public areas were very nice and breakfast was pretty good too and was included in the rate. We could have upgraded to a larger room for about 50 euros but it didn't seem worth it for one night. Overall, this is a really nice hotel and I would definitely recommend it, just don't be shocked by the room size! We really enjoyed Lucca and hope to get back one day.

Thought this a good hotel very close to the walls of Lucca although a bit of a trek to an entrance. Good restaurant and bar where we sat outside and had a bottle of wine. Easy to drive to Pisa and Florence. Good base for touring. Parking at back of hotel. Staff very accommodating and plenty of information on places of interest in the vicinity. Some very good restaurants inside the walls of Lucca itself.

This was a good, clean hotel. It isn't far from the station but if you are pulling a suitcase it seems like miles. It's a good walk to the town's attractions. There is very little on the doorstep. The hotel has a bar/cafe and a restaurant which is nice ( nouvelle cuisine-ish and not cheap. We used it one night to avoid going out in the rain.
We stayed for a week and found the limited storage space in the room a bit of a problem and the " French bed " rock hard. The place was spotless and the cleaning ladies were very good at their job. We didn't use the spa facilities so can't comment.Overall I would give it a better than average score.

Well...This hotel for location i cannot fault, right outside the walls of Lucca!
It was easy to find and the staff were helpful to us,
I do however have to say it was our least favourite hotel of our trip, Id compare it to a holiday inn in the UK. - nothing wrong with that (you know what your getting) just basic, Clean but nothing special!
Everything seemed to be crammed in! Which made it feel smaller.
They were currently fixing up parts of the hotel as we were leaving, and this seemed to be a large improvement on the odd decor!
The breakfast left a lot to be desired! and the milk was always left out so was warm, However the staff were always willing to give us fresh when asked,
Id say, if you spend most of your time in Lucca or plan to day trip to Florence, this was a good base.

This hotel is in a great location - 5-10 minutes easy walk from the station and 5 minutes to the town walls/ old town. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with a particularly spacious bathroom. The breakfast was a good standard and the staff were very helpful and friendly. They even found me some bubble wrap to protect a picture I had bought. Would definitely return.
