What a lovely place! Placed up on the hills of Lucca, you stay immediately struck by the view of the whole valley of Lucca. The relais is surrounded by green, and the welcome from the boss, Emiliano, is unmatched. He makes you feel like home, and gives you attentions that are hardly found in other structures.
Clean rooms, furnished in Tuscan style. Excellent breakfast, in addition to culinary tastes typical from this region. A place where relax is complete, a real center of' excellence in Tuscany. Highly recommended.

Beautiful boutique in a converted monastery. Great service from Emilio as well. About a 10 minute ride down to Lucca. The only downside of the location is the tricky drive up into the hills, however the reward is spectacular views. We loved it!

We have just revisited this wonderful establishment for 3 nights.

We stayed a group of people, family and friends also this time around. In our group of 8, with different backgrounds and ages, it is so interesting to see how everyone is in toal accord in regards to our awe of Relais La Capella.

First of all we think the property is wonderful. It is, as I stated last year, not about 5 star opulence but more of refined luxury found in the simplicity of this wonderful property. Large rooms, wonderful country styled kitchen where you can observe everything that Emiliano, the owner, prepares and serves you. Sweeping views over the valley below. Pool and the most wonderful garden add to the feeling of this place. To sit in under the loggia while drinking some Prosecco is quite magic and if the weather is right this is where one can enjoy some of the very best meals you could ever wish for.

Emiliano is a wonderful host. Everything from looking out for my father to cooking with my daughters makes this a very special person to spend time with.

Make sure to eat dinner here at least once. You will not find better food in Lucca or its surroundings. Everything is local, from Emiliano´s own vegetable and herb garden to the locally sourced meat.

I cannot reccommend this place strongly enough. I am a seasoned traveller who has gotten quite spoilt throughout the years but this place excells in the best possible way. We are certain we will go back again and again.

Room Tip: If you travel as a family try to request the two bedroom appartments. They are really nice and offer...

We loved this place because it was so .... Italy! Getting there late at night was not the easiest. The road is a challenge, but manageable in a van! The reward is SO worth it. The views of the valley were beautiful! The atmosphere was absolutely amazing! It was a bit out of town, which is what we loved. The building was beautiful and the grounds were even better. We took walks on the road, and were amazed. We were even treated to fireflies after dark. Pool was great and Emilio followed us down with extra chairs and wine.
Lucca was a super fun place to visit, even in the drizzle.
Breakfast was WAY above average ... organic and local. Such a treat! Homemade cakes and bread. Meats, cheeses, veggies, eggs to order, cappuccinos, awesome! Emilio was a great host and cook. We had the best gnocchi ever at our evening meal.
We SO enjoyed our stay for the magical location and quintessential Italian atmosphere. I REALLY hope to stay here again!

Our stay in Relais La Cappella was truly delightful in every way. Our host Emiliano was the perfect host and a fabulous cook. Each room was gorgeous and the landscaping around the villa was beautiful. If a movie were made at Relais, it would be titled "Rooms with a View" because most of the rooms overlooked the beautiful mountains and valleys of Tuscany. I heartily recommend this lovely 400+ year old former monastery and hope that some day I will have the opportunity to return.

The rooms and vistas were like something from a postcard or movie. The rooms were very comfortable and Emiliano was the perfect host. The drive up was challenging but we were able to negotiate the road just fine in 9 passenger vans.

The location was convenient for day trips to explore Tuscany. Lucca was an easy 15 minute drive and from there it was simple to access the Autostrada or catch trains to Florence and Milan.

Emiliano was everything you could ask for in a manager/owner. Each evening he greeted us with a wonderful meal prepared with ingredients fresh from his gardens and the local market. He was always available for questions and good advice but never imposed on our family time.

The local wines were a delight. If you go be sure to arrange a wine tasting at Valle del Sole which is just down the hill.

I highly recommend Relais La Cappella and hope to visit again!

Room Tip: The rooms in back had wonderful views and the evening breeze was very nice.

One of the most amazing experiences I have ever had -quintessentially Tuscany- loved it-take me back! Emiliano is a wonderful host-gourmet food, beautiful views and house-send me back! Bedrooms with private bath and daily maid service-beautiful pool and gardens-definitely 5 star experience but also relaxed-wonderful fireplace and many books and games in the living room plus flat screen and wifi-ultimate Tuscany experience!
