“Cozy and delicious”
Reviewed July 17, 2012

The owner was a delightful host. He gave us great local wine choices and served us like we were the only people there. Beautiful little gem in Lucca. We will for sure return.

“charming room, outstanding food”
Reviewed June 1, 2012

we spent 3 weeks in Lucca and ate a dozen different restaurants. I Santi stands out among them as delivering high quality, unique cuisine. the salmon with buccellati toast points was superb. I'm just sorry we didn't find it until the end of our stay.

“Hidden Gem of Lucca”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

This amazing place is a little hidden which makes it even valuable..The owner, Leonardo is a great host makes you feel that you are dining in one of your friends restaurant. As he declares, they don't have a very long menu, but they have the best of everything. The wine cellar is amazing, try one of the Brunello di Montalcino that he will recommend. The best part is in the end, the desert time:) It ill be very difficult to choose:) I want to go there again as soon as I can...

“Epitomizing a passion for food and wine”
Reviewed October 9, 2011

Leonardi invites you into his diningroom and makes you feel like you are the only customers he has. This restaurant, seating 23 people (dentro) and about the same number (fuori) is a fantastic find. While there are many great restaurants in Lucca, this is unique and edgy. The wine cellar is amazing .. .and the marinated salmon appetizer is to die for. Don't miss this gem on Via dell' Antiteatro, 29/a.

“Food good, sommelier excellent, stroppy waitress”
Reviewed September 14, 2011

Clearly proof that if you want good food in Italy, go a step away from the main piazza into somewhere that looks shut. If you try Vineria I Santi you will not be disappointed with the high quality ingredients - I even got excited by the spring onions. The wine list is good too, wielded by a chap who knows what he is doing. The only downside was getting past the waitress who was at best inattentive, at worst a bulldog slurping on a wasp. We were there for lunch, maybe she has warmed up by evening service. However, when we said we'd been there to a local friend, his response was "ah yes, good place but stroppy"
