We stayed in the very large suite for 4 with 2 king beds. It had a bathtub and shower! But the most amazing thing was the fresco-covered ceiling. It was very comfortable and convenient. Hard to drive to, but not impossible. Breakfast was good. Would definitely stay there again.

We had booked four nights in this hotel based on the overall good reviews as we were looking for somewhere comfortable to stay since we had two young kids with us.

Unfortunately, the hotel and the room was far from what we'd expected to find for the price we paid. We booked last minute, which may have been why we got the room we got, but the room we got shouldn't have been in use at all in my opinion. The room was small, very outdated, the wallpaper was peeling off the walls in sections, and it had a very strange smell. We chose to check out after just one night.

Location is good, right in the middle of the shopping street, but unless you get a room with a better standard than the one we did, it's not worth it.

We do think to the guy minding the reception on the day we checked out was very good, however. He was very pleasant.

Great Location! Lucca sites are within easy walking distance. Helpful staff! The room was clean. Nice piazza outside of hotel. Lucca has much to offer.....history, architecture, and restaurants. Home of Puccini......his home was a nice place to visit.

We stayed here with a group of 21 touring Tuscany by Vespa. The hotel is in the heart of the walled city, is well appointed, clean and perfectly located. The staff were extremely helpful, more than one would expect. The hotel is located on a short cul de sac, and our group rode right past it. One of the staff members, seeing the "parade" of Vespas pass by, concluded it was our group, and remained on the corner to flag us down when we rode by again! The breakfast buffet was very good, and overall, between the Hotel la Luna and the wonders of Lucca, that destination on our journey was excellent.

This lovely little establishment is right in the centre of the fascinating town of Lucca. The town itself offers a blend of Roman, Mediaeval and Renaissance architecture and some fascinating sites. The hotel has very friendly staff and the rooms were clean and in good order, although the walls appear to be quite thin. As it is in the centre of town you must drag your luggage from outside the walls and this can be unpleasant over the cobbles. The lovely shopping strip is right outside the hotel and there are plenty of fabulous eateries right on the doorstep also.
