We decided to visit as a change to tombs and churches. Here they have a great selection of Puccini memorabilia, music scores and letters he wrote, news articles about him and original opera concert brochures etc.The music scores and letters were really interesting to look at and in immaculate condition.

Travelers who love opera should visit this restored home of the young Puccini and then take the train to Torre del Lago to visit the home he maintained as a creative adult. The apartment in Lucca has truly interesting documentation of his work and early years.

If you have a choice of Torre del Lago or here then go to his home by the lake which is far more evocative. This is very clinical with a few cases of letters. If you can't read the Italian then you will be round in 15 minutes, not worth the entrance fee. If you are not a Puccini aficionado then go round the walls or up the Torre de Giinigi instead. If you are a Puccini fan then go to San Giovanni church where you will hear some every night.

I enjoy the music of Puccini, and that was my reason to visit. There is a great selection of memorabilia, letters he wrote, and news articles about him. His piano was probably of the greatest interest. It's a nice stop with a selection of Puccini bookmarks, CDs of music, etc.

If you love opera, see this and then go to Torre del Largo. The entry times were strange but the apartment is delightful to see.
