We saw this restaurant while looking for another recommended one. We decided on Ammodonostro as the other was still closed at 7.20pm on a Friday night.
Fortunately, we were among the early birds and had the choice of tables. We chose outside in the lovely garden which was enhanced with discrete lighting and soft music.
The service was friendly, the atmosphere conducive to conversation, the food excellent and not expensive. There was a good choice of wine, including a house wine.
My husband had a beef dish and I had sea bass. They were delicious and we were given time between courses.
We enjoyed this place so much we returned on our second night in Lucca. We again arrived early and chose a garden table.
This time I ordered the cheese plate and found it expensive at 10euros for 6 small slices of cheese with nothing else.
We would go back if we are ever in Lucca again but I probably wouldn't order the cheese plate.
If you intend to arrive after 8pm, I would suggest booking a table.
