Brid and Stefano were the perfect hosts , giving us all the information needed for our stay in Lucca. Our suite was the Dante and it was simply perfect very romantic looking onto a church tower our friends stayed in the Divina suitte equally beautiful with views onto a courtyard at the back of the guest house. Breakfast was informal and very relaxing Brid and Stefano are so welcoming and friendly chatting away with guests and nothing is too much trouble for them. We look forward to returning next year already - perfect in.every way

The rooms are beautifully done and maintain historic character while being comfortable. It is a perfect spot to enjoy old Lucca. Breakfast is good. A highlight, or at least a lasting memory, is driving Via Fillungo in the middle of the day to drop off our bags -- now I know what it's like to drive on a busy sidewalk. Stefano guided us in.

This was a great place to stay in the heart of Lucca. It was relatively easy to find. It was my fault that we made a wrong turn but we still found the place without too much effort. It is a really nice old building with a great renovation for the guest rooms. We had arranged to meet our hosts at a certain time but we were about ½ hour late due to a train delay, even so, they happily welcomed us. Our room (110 Euros) was clean, beautifully done, with a great view of church across the street, 500 year old glass windows in our room and just a charming feel to the whole place. Our hosts Brid and Stephano were meticulous and extremely gracious. They were exactly what I picture B&B hosts to be like, friendly, helpful and able to provide a wealth of suggestions for sites, shopping and dining. We stayed in the Beatrice room and were very happy with room. The décor was special so you really felt like you were staying in a castle. The included breakfast was served in a beautiful common area just outside our door where Brid and Stephano served up a simple but very tasty breakfast with pastries from the long-trusted local baker. They also lingered and were very engaged in conversation with us and any other guests that happened to be having breakfast at the single large table at the same time. In the common area there are cups, glasses and utensils that can be borrowed, a fridge for use which also had natural spring water freshly bottled that was replenished every day from a local fountain, this tasted so clean and seemed to be extra quenching.

There are many shops and restaurants all around and Brid and Stephano can direct you to the best.

We loved our stay here and genuine warmth of our hosts, would recommend this place when staying in Lucca.

This is a true gem in Lucca! It's centrally located and is newly redone. The hosts are truly delightful and helpful and they serve a delicious breakfast! It's located in an old tower in the middle of Lucca and the rooms are spectacular. Comfortable beds with amazing details and a bathroom that is to die for, especially when compared to the normal smaller spots you see in Italy. Don't hesitate to stay here!!

Have stayed in all four rooms and all excellent, all reflective of italian history and style. Quiet rooms at the back, but fantastic views from front rooms. Brid and Stefano are the perfect hosts, who go above and beyond your expectations. Centraly located in a beautiful and vibrant part of town, only a ten minute walk from the train station. This is our 3rd stay at L'Antica Bifore and will definitely be returning to one of our favourite places.

Room Tip: If you want views go front, if you want quietness go back.

My wife and I spent four nights here recently and loved the place. Stefano and Brid are welcoming, friendly hosts and we enjoyed staying at their wonderful B and B.

L'Antica is a four room B&B. The rooms are positioned around an entry door and central dining area. We actually stayed in two of the rooms, one, the larger of the two, was a very quiet room with a window that looked out onto a small courtyard. The other room, we asked to be moved to as we wanted to watch the "Holy Face" parade from our window, was a bit smaller but every bit as nice albeit not so quiet.

We've been to the town of Lucca before and while it has crowds, especially around parade time, they don't begin to compare to the mass confusion in Rome or Venice.

The walled city is an experience in itself and while it's not hard to get lost, walk another couple of blocks and you'll eventually figure out where you are.

We'll be back.
