Il Seminario had everything we could have wanted in a quick stay in Lucca. We arrived before our room was ready, but the staff was happy to let us store our books and reorganize a little before going out. Once we were in our room it was comfortable and clean. The wifi worked and overall it was quiet. In addition breakfast was satisfying, with a similar spread of sweet foods (with a few savory foods) that we saw throughout Italy.

Additionally, Il Seminario is very well located. It is within the city walls and just a few minutes walk from many things. Although it is off the main drag, towards the edge of the old city, we found that we could easily pop back to the hotel to use the bathroom, rest, etc. as needed.

Overall, we found Il Seminario to be a good value and would recommend it!

We booked here last minute on our honeymoon road-trip, as we had booked another place that was too far away from the centre of Lucca. We couldn't believe how lucky we were to find this place, as it was so central and had free and secure parking. We were in one of the attic rooms which were so spacious and had a kitchenette too if we did want to cook anything. It did get quite warm up there despite the air con, but most of the time we were out exploring Lucca anyway. The staff were so helpful and friendly and gave us excellent recommendations of where to visit and eat during our two night stay. The buffet-style breakfast was really delicious and you had the option to sit outside on a little terrace which was great. On our last day, we checked out but were able to leave our car a little longer so we could do a bit more sight-seeing before leaving Lucca. We'd happily stay here again.

We had an overnight stay in Lucca on the way to Cinque Terre and what an amazing town with fantastic accom at Il Seminario. 10 min walk from the train station. Our room was absolutely huge and got breakfast in a cute little room downstairs. Hotel is in a quiet part of the town but easy walking distance to everything. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay in Lucca! The staff was attentive and friendly, the room was unique, but very large and clean. And we were provided with a free, secure place to park our rental car. Lucca is a lovely historic town that is small enough to discover on foot or by bike (a bike rental place is located just a few blocks away). Be sure to rent a bike and ride around the town on top the ancient wall!

We only spent one night in Lucca and arrived by car. I chose this bed and breakfast due to the friendly and easy communication via email, and because of its ideal location inside the city wall where all is in easy walking distance but still close to the walls that you can enter with your car without getting a ticket. The management / staff are young and friendly and helped us to find a nice restaurant for our late lunch (we liked the Cantine Bernardini). Also many thanks for the flexibility that we could postpone our stay by one night at late notice. We got the Puccini room for the three of us and were very happy. There is a second door, so eventual noise from the corridor / entrance wouldn't disturb. The mattresses of the bed were super comfortable. Breakfast started at 8.00am but we were told we could get it earlier, which at the end we did not needed. Many thanks for a pleasant stay. We would come back anytime and can warmly recommend this b&b for all visitors to Lucca.

Room tip: We got room "Puccini" at reception and it was spacious and quiet.
