We booked this day trip to Pisa and Florence based on the good vibes we got from fellow TripAdvisor contributors. Our friends were right! Dany did an excellent job in just every way of not just driving us around, but helping us understand what we were seeing, some historical tidbits - and very importantly- scooting us around the sights and avoiding the long lines and plodding pace of the larger tours. He quite literally pulled us right up to door of the Accademia di Belle Arti to see the David masterpiece. His lunch choice for our group was right on the money for us. He was friendly, courteous, quick but not rushed. We never were concerned for a moment that we might be running tight for return to our ship - and he knew that was in the back of our minds. He was sensitive to that concern, and made a perfect effort to keep us informed of our pace and confident of a relaxed and timely return to port. Thanks Dany!

Dany was an absolute delight and we had a fantastic day in Pisa and Florence thanks to his transportation and knowledge. Naturally, one day is not enough to spend in Florence but Dany made sure we hit all of the "highlights" culminating with a couple of hours in the center of Florence.

He also pointed us to a great restaurant with good food and service.

I strongly recommend Dany over any cruise ship excursion of Pisa and Florence.

We booked with Dany through the Internet to pick us up from the dock at Livorno on 14/11 for a tour to The Mall and Florence. His car is nice and clean and he could not be more welcoming. He took us to a local restaurant for lunch in Florence and he has a special permit to park anywhere in Florence which is really a bonus. He's very knowledgeable in the area. He even took us to a local grocery store in Livorno for the balsamic vinegar and other local produces,

I would recommend Dany to anyone at anytime.

We booked a private tour with Dany of Tuscan Heart tours for our port stop in Livorno. It was just for 8 of us, all day. Dany had another tour group lined up, so she had Sabrina pick us up as our driver and guide. I do not see how Dany could have been any better.....we were all pleased and impressed.

Sabrina met us early at the pier. The ship arrived at 7am, and we were all loaded up and ready to go by 7:20. (The tour was arranged to start at 7:30) It may not sound like much, but when you only have a single day to see an amazing place such as Tuscany, it is nice to get a head start. Our first stop was Pisa.

We arrived and were dropped off right in front of the Leaning Tower. (The ship's tours require a 1/2 mile walk to get there) With us getting there early, it was as if we had the place to ourselves. We were able to get some fantastic shots of the tower and old buildings before the crowds arrived. (Sabrina even knew of "secret" WC's behind a curtain in a cafe' that is not known to the public, which was a nice finding for many of us. ) After this we headed to Volterra, a medieval hilltop town, and we walked the entire village. Next we stopped at a Tuscan winery for a tour and a "light lunch" with a "tasting." The light lunch was more than most meals (our group struggled to eat just 1/2) and the tasting consisted of 3 carafes of red wine, and 3 of the locally grown white. Again, we didn't manage to "taste" all that was provided. (This part of the tour was 12E/pp extra) Sabrina then arranged to get us a sampling of a dessert wine and a biscotti as a finishing touch. This was all her idea, and enhanced an already surreal moment. Finally, we went to San Gimignano, and toured the hilltop town and it's magnificent towers. After walking independently for a little while, we all met up with Sabrina and she gave us a guided tour to some areas that I had not known about, (I had visited there before) including a shop that has an entire room dedicated to a miniature replica of how the village looked back in it's splendor. As we were exiting, she pointed out a certain balsamic vinegarette of very high quality that we could take back to the US with us. From there, we went back to the ship, arriving around 5pm, even though in our confirmation email our day was outlined as ending at 3:30. We had asked that Sabrina give us a little more time to see Tuscany and she certainly did. We were (and still are) very grateful.

We had researched before booking our tour because we wanted to enjoy exactly the wonderful experience that we did, and Tuscan Heart was very highly recommended. Now I can add to those excellent recommendations. This is a small outfit, so book early or they will be booked up. I have read wonderful reviews regarding Dany, but if Sabrina shows up instead, you still have good reason to high five each other as you will begin to enjoy an amazing day in Tuscany.

Daniele (Dany) with Tuscanheart was an excellent tour guide. We corresponded before our trip & he was waiting on shore as our ship docked in Livorno . He knew it was our anniversary and we had pre-made travel plans for Pisa, Lucca & the Tuscan countryside. Dany was very knowledgable of the area, the history and very accommodating to anything we wanted. We mentioned Pietrasanta . Our hometown & Pietrsanta both mine white marble. Dany said oh we are very close we will go there for lunch. He carried us to a little trattoria . The ambiance was perfect for our anniversary lunch and the best tiramisu ever! Dany was such a nice guy. We spent the day as if we were long time friends. When I return to Italy I will definitely call Dany again.
