My wife and I journeyed to Fiesole (from Ireland) for a family wedding and were fortunate to have booked Le Cannelle, apart from being so close to Florence, easy bus trips etc., excellent facilities, spotless & comfortbale accomodation, good value, it was the warmth and tremendous enthusiasm from the wonderful lady of the house - Sara - that made our stay so pleasant. Breakfast were great fun - and really delicious, home cooked as you arrived in the morning. If you are in the Florence area and you want a quiet break from the city bustle, take the 7 bus to Fiesole and treat yourself to an enjoyable time in the warm hospitality Le Cannelle, it's the best Céad Míle Fáilte you will find anywhere.

My husband and I stayed at this B&B at the start of our vacation for three nights. Fiesole is a charming town about 20 minutes by bus from Florence. You are out of the business of Florence, yet accessible to other parts of Tuscany as well. Parking is near and free. The owner, Sara, is delightful; a perfect hostess. She was there to greet us, give us restaurant recommendations, and directions, and she herself prepares a beautiful breakfast in the breakfast room each morning. We had a perfect stay. Thanks Sara!

Le Cannelle is a great choice to stay in if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of Firenze or if you have a car and want to explore surrounding areas (parking is at bottom of hill and requieres a nice walk) . Sara was an energetic and wonderful host with a wealth of information on what to see, where to go and what to do. She made reservations at the Ufizi and several restaurants she recommended (and they were great) and most of all made us all feel like friends and not just guests. We will definitely go back. You can get to downtown Firenze quite easily by taking the bus that leaves approximately every 20 minutes (watch your wallet on crowded buses)

Room Tip: All rooms were great, There were 5 us us and we had 3 rooms

My wife & I stayed here for two nights in November. Fiesole is a peaceful, quiet getaway from the hustle & bustle of touristy Florence with gorgeous views & terrific restaurants. Le Canelle boasts large, well-appointed rooms. The best part of staying there is Sara the proprietress. She is warm & effusive and cooks a nice breakfast. She should be Fiesole's goodwill ambassador. I should note that are are no views from the hotel itself. Finding it & parking are a bit difficult, but well worth the effort. Highly recommended.

After 4 very busy days in Rome, we chose to stay in Fiesole while visiting Florence. We hoped to find a balance between the hectic sightseeing pace we were keeping and the peaceful "getaway" we dreamed of finding in Tuscany. Our stay was everything we hoped for. Sara is the owner and hostess of Le Cannelle. She met us on arrival with maps, information on buses, restaurants, and pretty much everything we needed for our stay! We stayed in the room that used to be her grandmother's. It was a large bedroom with a large, modern bathroom. Everything was perfect - spacious, clean, quiet, free wi-fi - exactly as we hoped for.

Everyone has good things to say about Sara, and that is exactly what we found. While making and serving our breakfast "feasts", she answered our numerous questions (Where to eat, Where to buy leather goods, Whether to see another church (Santa Croce or Capella Brancacci), How to get to Piazzala Michelangelo (location of 2nd copy of David), what type of coffee to drink for an afternoon "pick-me-up" (and why Cappucino is only at breakfast) and many more. She is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. If you are looking to stay in Fiesole, this is a fabulous place!

We chose to stay outside Florence at Fiesole because we had a car and a three year old, and this hill top village had such easy access into the heart of Florence. The stay at Le Cannelle was lovely. Sara is a gem of a hostess, happy to help if needed, provider of a generous and varied breakfast, and will make coffee to your liking.
The room - we stayed in the triple - was super. It was enormous for starters!! Beautifully furnished and immaculately clean (and each subsequent morning there was housekeeping) with a modern bathroom. Double glazed windows prevent the street intruding, as it is a busy road, although I would have preferred dark curtains to stop street lights and the morning light (I just used an eye mask, but the rest of the family had no problem). It was airconditioned - it worked and was quiet!
You do have to park your car at the free carparking down the hill, but then, so do all the locals. You can drop your bags at the door first though. Catch the number 7 bus all the way down into Florence, simply & cheap and free of hassels. There's some nice restaurants for dinner in Fiesole or stay in the city til late and catch the bus back. The village of Fiesole is worth wandering around, with a Leonardo da Vinci link, and a beautiful garden Villa Gamberaia a short drive away.
Make this place your base for Florence!!

Room Tip: There's no lift, so you need to be capable of getting up stairs.

This place really was wonderful and we would recommend it wholeheartedly. It is only a 15 minute bus ride down to Florence and we spent our days at art galleries there, then returned to Fiesole and it's cooler temperature in the early evening. The bus leaves from the Fiesole town square every 20 minutes or so, and the bus stop is literally 8 minutes walk from Le Cannelle. It takes you to St Marco square, minutes from the Academy museum.
Sara was a fantastic host and we felt extremely welcome. She was gracious and warm. A lovely person.
