We got a double room for 70 Euros with breakfast included. Rooms were big. Shower was fine. There was a computer with internet free for all guests, but it was very slow. Staff were very nice and helpful. Parking was free, but you must be a good driver to handle the narrow parking lot. There's a bus to Florence every 20 minutes, so it's great idea to stay in this hotel if you have a car and don't want to deal with parking in Florence.

We were looking for a carefree way to visit Firenze for 3 days without the hassle of worrying about our rental car. A short (20 minute) bus ride away from the Duomo Fiesole fit the bill and the Villa Bonelli worked well for us. It is clean, the staff were friendly and helpful to us, and the setting is very peaceful. We paid 90 Euros per night at the end of September and thought it was a good value. We parked in the free municipal parking lot a couple of streets away without incidence. A more detailed description of our trip and stay can be found at: http://edjoseph.blogspot.com/2009/09/can-you-say-fiesole.html -- no ads, just a couple of retired people enjoying life.

Stumbled into town above Florence because we were told it had a bus route to Florence. It does. The bus goes from main square to main Dom in Florence and runs very late and very often. Hotel was just up the hill from main square of Fiesole.

Inexpensive, basic rooms. Include full bathroom. Excellent view down hill to greater Florence area. Good, mostly English Speaking, informative and friendly staff. Told us about a local concert and dinner over the hill. Great tip with good local wine and food. Parking is off-site, but free and safe. Watch your clutch on the hill above the hotel. Breakfast is sparse. Some dry-ish bread, coffee, tea, jellies. Included, but not very substantial.

Joined the "Grappa Club" for two nights and had a blast, literally, at the town's celebration for Patron Saint. Whole are was out in the market square.

Stayed at the Hotel Villa Bonelli planning to stay out of the hustle and bustle of Florence. The hotel and our room were pleasant and good value for the area. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is situated in a tiny lane off the main street in and out of Fiesole. As is usual for the area it is only wide enough for one car even though it is a two way street. As we were unloading our cases one of the locals wanted to pass our car and leaned on her horn till my husband rushed out to find out what was the problem. We had a standoff til we backed the car down the lane and round a corner
so she could pass. The parking is on the other side of the village and the restaurants in town were underwhelming and pricey. We also had to find our way through Florence each time we wished to do sightseeing in Tuscany. Best to stay here without a car

The room was clean and large enough. The bathroom was clean as well. The breakfast was more than adequate - coffee, juice, breads, cheese, fruit, jam, even some lunchmeat.

That's the good news.

The staff was a bit surly - helpful when asked, but definitely not friendly. The beds were atrocious. Really, really bad. The "king" bed was two twins pushed together - in and of itself, not a problem - a but one mattress was lumpy and waaaay too soft and the other was hard as a rock. The third bed ( we were a group of three adults) was even worse.

Can't beat the location, though - a short walk (albeit uphill) from the bus stop and you walk right by nice market - very handy because there is a refrigerator in the room - and the bus takes you right to the heart of Firenze.

Here's the 2008 review. We liked this place. It was an easy bus ride (#7) from the Sta Maria Novella train terminal in Florence, and out of the maelstrom of the center of town. Buy bus tickets at kiosk just outside the train station and next to where the buses line up - E1.20 each. I understand they can be bought on board the bus, but then it's like E2 each. BE SURE TO VALIDATE your bus ticket on board the bus. Hotel had basic accommodations; clean; staff spoke English quite well, and were willing to research and make the time-saving reservations needed for top attractions - in our case the Uffizi and the Accademia (for which we tipped 10 euros). We felt 90 euro/nt reasonable, and we did have an en-suite shower (didn't take long for the water to warm up); the view out our window was marred by a construction crane, but that's not the hotel's fault. The included breakfast was fair, and staff was very accommodating in making us coffee americano. We would stay here again.

We didn't have much expectations for this hotel, but it was a pleasent surprise. It was quiet, the rooms where large and with a great view. The staff was friendly and helpful, and it is located very central in Fiesole. It was also a garage for our car, but with a bigger car than the rented Fiat Punto it would have been a problem parking and driving the narrow street to the hotel.
