The first time you go to Fiesole, and arrive at Piazza Mini, it is almost overwhelming. We have nothing like this in the USA. The views are absolutely wonderful. The Roman forum is great, just sit there and try to think about what it was like in their day. We have taken some friends there, taken our grandchildren there, all have a period of time when they just sit and think about what could have happened here.
You should take a stroll from the Piazza Mino, which is all uphill, and try to look into some of the gardens or homes. The views of Florence from in between the homes are spectacular. You can certainly understand why the wealthy Florentines had their summer homes in the hills of Fiesole.
