Buca Mario is quite surprising as you enter. From the outside, it looks like a tiny little place on a side street not far from Santa Maria Novella, but once you enter, there are rooms and rooms in what turns out to be quite a large restaurant. As we were a large party of 2 families, we had the added pleasure of being escorted to an upstairs private room, replete with leather couches and fireplace. No doubt this added a great deal to our dining experience, but both the service and the food was excellent. They specialize in meats, but the pastas were good as well, and I even had a wonderful salmon.
