“If only they opened a restaurant in the U.S.”
Reviewed January 9, 2014

My wife (who is gluten free) had done research into GF restaurants in Florence and discovered that this place had won the "world championships of gluten free pizza." After laughing that such a competition existed, we decided we had to try it for ourselves. We were not disappointed.

We ordered the Vesuvio pizza with gluten free crust and… wow. Just wow. It was one of the best pizzas we've ever tasted and far better than most regular non-GF pizzas we've ever had. All the ingredients (buffalo mozzarella, arugula, truffle, cherry tomatoes, Tuscan ham) were fresh and delicious, and the crust was out of this world. You'd never know it was gluten free.

We also ordered a gluten free lasagna which was equally delicious. One of the best lasagnas (gluten free or otherwise) that we'd ever had.

Combined with amazing house wine and coffee + homemade tiramisu for dessert, our dinner at Ciro & Sons was one we will never forget. Truly a highlight of our trip to Italy and one we wish we could replicate back home in L.A. We told our waiter (who was the friendliest guy ever… one of the "Sons," presumably) that if they opened a location in L.A. we would invest. He laughed and probably thought we were kidding. If only.

“Very good for dinner with infant/toddler”
Reviewed January 6, 2014 via mobile

The restaurant is very much family style. A lot of family pictures, all sons of chef used to work there. That makes atmosphere to be very warm. They know how to eat better with a small child - propose you the right menu, prepare food for your baby separately etc.
The food is great.
Really recommend for travel with small babies

“Great buzz”
Reviewed January 4, 2014

A lovely local traditional restaurant. There was a great buzz ... Families, couples, groups .. All eating happily with the waiters flying round looking after everyone. The food was great and they even did a special order for desert for my husband. A good place to eat.

“Great food & service in limited time”
Reviewed December 29, 2013 via mobile

Highly recommend this place. We had less than an hour to eat something and catch our train and were hesitant when we saw this place packed. But the waiters almost did a rely race just to ensure we could get what we wanted in record time ... And the food was delicious. We ordered a pasta dish and a pizza and both were finger licking great. I do not recommend places lightly but this place is really one I would highly recommend!

“Great find in Florence”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

We ate at Ciro & Sons twice during our stay in Florence - both times were great. Food was excellent and prices reasonable. Atmosphere was fun and lively; family owners were cordial. Service a little slow, but not unlike others in Italy. Definitely worth a try.
