We love thin crust, wood burning oven pizza. This is the best in Florence and it is very reasonable. The interior of the place is "quirky" - to say the least. The service and food are excellent.

They will only braise it briefly on the grill, "kissing" each side with flame, but Tuscan beef is so tender, so beautiful, if you are a carnivorek, this is the real deal!
Enjoy their gnocchi, too and the pasta with truffles...just insanely scrumptious. I am so happy to have such incredible dining right on the street next to the hotel!

Two friends and I loved this place! The food was great (we all ordered calzones and had a very fresh order of caprese). My friends enjoyed the wine selection, and we all had a very good dessert, although at this time it escapes me as to what it was. The atmosphere is great with covers of old newspapers adorning one wall and some of the most unique restrooms you'll find anywhere.

Definitely worth a trip!

We were told by a woman in Florence that this place had the best pizza in the city. It was close to our B&B so we dropped in one night. The ambience was fantastic - every stereotype you'd expect in a little Italian restaurant. It looked like the model for many restaurants in America. We were coming off a fairly late lunch so we weren't planning on eating a lot. After ordering beers and wine, we settled on a couple of different pizzas and my wife and I decided to split a salad. When we ordered, the waitress said we needed another item. We kind of looked dumbly at her so she explained that each person had to order something. Since their were four of us, we were one item short. So our friends also ordered a salad to split. That total was 2 salads and 2 pizzas. Lucky we didn't each order a salad because they were large and good - too much for one person. The pizzas were pretty typical of what we got throughout Italy - nice thin crust with very little on top. They certainly weren't anything great.
I understand pizza is a personal thing and a good one simply depends on your past experiences. For me, these were just fuel for the next day's activities. This is based on eating pizza all over America and other places for the past 45 years.

We stayed at the Porta Faenza which is down the street from this restaurant. Every day we passed this spot but we also had our afternoon coffee and a snack at the owners gelato place across the street.
His name is Entulio or Tulio and he made our entire visit. He greeted us every day took care of us by insisting we eat what he knows was great and different and he acts a bit eccentric by taking pictures of himself with our camera and starting conversations amongst his patrons. He let us know some of the (in his opinion) better restaurants and which to stay away from (we actually went to one, due to its reviews and were disappointed).

His cafe became "our cafe" and a daily ritual. We even bumped into him at the Mercato and he stopped to talk to us and the merchant we were buying from. What a treat!

We promised him we would make his restuarant the last of our trip and we were not disappointed. The garden is a great place to dine, service was just as friendly as Entulio and the food was great.

His gelateria is called Il Trianglo de Bermude and this is great as well. Thank you sir for making our trip memorable!
