Description: Thank you for your interest in Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina. We are a cozy wine shop and wine bar located in Piazza Pitti just across from the Pitti Palace. Our mission is to select the very best territorial, cultural and traditional wines produced in Tuscany and in Italy. Focusing on small production, high-end wines that are difficult to find anywhere else. Our options by the glass strongly represent this very specific selection. Our goal is to inform our clients of the wines and wine making process of Italy. We have a limited but quite special food selection prepared daily by our chef. We offer an a la carte menu featuring Tuscan appetizers, cheeses, charcuterie and hand made first courses. Still, our dishes are designed to compliment your experience with our wines. We are not a restaurant with a full dining menu. Our kitchen is open from 1:00pm to 3:30 pm then again from 7:30 to 10:30. We are closed on Tuesdays. For reservations please let us know what date, time, name, how many people and what type of reservation you are interested in making; an a la carte lunch or dinner, a reservation for The Wine Club Tasting, Dinner With An Owner or The Wine Tasting Lunch. We are closed On Tuesdays all day. We thank you so much for expressing your interest in us and we do very much hope to get to see you at Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina soon!

Wow. Brilliant. Owned by 3 gentleman, obviously all connoisseurs of fine wines. Food also excellent although it is clear that the food was to help taste the wines they serve. My wife had the 3 sparkling whites whilst I had 4 of Italy's Chianti Classicos ranging from 2009 to 1967! The food was excellent and the service was also attentive and allowed for good explanations about the wines we were drinking. Right opposite the Pallazio Pitti (one of 3 eating places) and I would highly recommend this to anybody who loves good quality Italian wine

Stop what you’re doing. Turn off your music, tell your husband/wife to shut up, your boss can wait, your kids will be fine…and listen here: If you’re planning a trip to Florence and you don’t visit this place, you have failed at life. It’s as simple as that.

Modern, cozy, charming wine bar full of character on the other side of the river. The owner (Zeno) is one of the nicest, most passionate people you’ve ever met and wants nothing more than for you to discover your next favorite wine. The service in Italy is mediocre at best. This place rivals some of the best restaurants in the states and is a dining experience I will always remember.

My wife and I made reservations for dinner and we didn’t have to stick to the wine flights on the menu. Instead we told Zeno (bartender/owner) the type of wine we like, and he created a custom flight for us, explaining the wine, the producer, and why he chose to carry it along the way. I think we tasted about 8 different wines in total. He even threw in a few extras for free and broke out a 1975 red to try with our chocolate cake. Speaking of food…

Go here for a light dinner. Apps and primis. Everything was delicious. The salumi plate was some of the freshest, best tasting we’ve eaten in Italy. It came with a chicken liver pâté that was so good, we threw in a separate full order of the pâté. Not typically a big pâté guy, but this was on a whole other level. Then we got one of their fresh pastas, again, mind blowing. Finished with the chocolate cake, which wasn’t too rich, flavorful, and a great way to finish. This meal stood out from all other meals during the first week of our honeymoon. I cannot recommend this place enough

We had been to Florence four years ago and discovered this wine bar. We enjoyed it so much, we went there three times that week. On our return to Florence, we planned to visit here again. We dropped in after touring the Pitti Palace, which is just across the street and had some great wine and my wife sampled a flight of champagne. We then made a reservation for dinner and came back a couple of days later. The food was wonderful and Zeno, one of the owners, paired our food with some great local Italian wines. Best meal that we had while in Italy. Go for the wine or the wine and food, you won't be disappointed!

We had one night in Florence before going to the countryside and we, as we had been to Florence many times before, decided to try a different experience for dinner. I found the Pitti Gola Enoteca and Cantina on Trip Advisor and was so glad! This is a very small place - about 20 seats - so you must make a reservation if you want to have dinner as well as wine taste. We saw many people turned away. From the outside it just looks like another tourist wine bar as it is directly across from the Pitti Palace but don't let that fool you. The owners are 3 young men who are passionate about wine and want to share their enthusiasm with everyone who enters. The have a talented chef who makes magic in a small space and keeps to a limited menu that complements the wines.

Our good fortune that night was to have Zino attend to us, and once he realized we had some knowledge of wine and got a feel for our preferences, he "went off script" and shared tastes from some of his favorite small producers of Italy. In the end, we not only bought wine to ship home, but just had to have a couple of their bold, etched wine glasses to take with us. Managed to get them all the way home without breakage!

If, when in Florence, you don't have the need to go to a fancy, popular restaurant and/or just want a good wine tasting experience, be sure to go to Pitta Gola. It was a highlight for us.

Lovely little Enoteca opposite the Pitti Palace. Has a nice old world feel to it but a very modern take on approaching wine and food.

We had the "flight" which was a tasting of 4 local wines, all very interesting and a nice progression in styles ending up with a 2004 Brunello which was delicious.

The food rather than taking a back seat to the wine starred in its own right.

Service was knowledgable without conceit.
