Description: Thank you for your interest in Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina. We are a cozy wine shop and wine bar located in Piazza Pitti just across from the Pitti Palace. Our mission is to select the very best territorial, cultural and traditional wines produced in Tuscany and in Italy. Focusing on small production, high-end wines that are difficult to find anywhere else. Our options by the glass strongly represent this very specific selection. Our goal is to inform our clients of the wines and wine making process of Italy. We have a limited but quite special food selection prepared daily by our chef. We offer an a la carte menu featuring Tuscan appetizers, cheeses, charcuterie and hand made first courses. Still, our dishes are designed to compliment your experience with our wines. We are not a restaurant with a full dining menu. Our kitchen is open from 1:00pm to 3:30 pm then again from 7:30 to 10:30. We are closed on Tuesdays. For reservations please let us know what date, time, name, how many people and what type of reservation you are interested in making; an a la carte lunch or dinner, a reservation for The Wine Club Tasting, Dinner With An Owner or The Wine Tasting Lunch. We are closed On Tuesdays all day. We thank you so much for expressing your interest in us and we do very much hope to get to see you at Enoteca Pitti Gola e Cantina soon!

“Splendid”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

We went with the Wine Tasting Dinner. It was just the way we hoped it would be…. We tried 13-14 different wines…. and some vodka at the end. We learned a great deal of details about the wine making and had the opportunity to try the wine from different regions of Italy. We still have the notes. Edoardo was great! The food was amazing. We spent four (4) hours there. BUT the best part that we did not have a headache next day, just like Edoardo said. We hope to be back sooooooon.

“Stumbled on this nice enoteca...”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

Looking at the tripadvisor reviews for enotecas, we decided to go to a different one which turned out to be closed. So, we landed here. The restaurant it directly across from the Pitti Palace (hence the name). We sat at on of the 4 outside tables. Two of the other tables were reserved which we viewed as a good sign for the place. It turns out that one of the owners was getting married and his future in-laws had stopped by for a bite. The other table ended up getting the tasting menu - which since we just landed here, was not available to us. The food that we ordered was excellent and service was great. We got to try some really good wines. If we went back, we would definitely try to do the tasting menu. But, even without, it's a nice light meal.

“Fantastic night”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

This place was recommended to us by some folks we met at dinner the night before. Prior to visiting the Pitti Palace, my wife and I wlked into the little bar and made dinner reservations for 8pm that night. We we let them choose the meal and wine, and they did inquire about allergies or things that were an absolute no. We got there promptly at 8 and Zeno sat us immediately. He spoke great english. My wife was a white drinker, but Zeno announced he would quickly fix that :) (and he did). I think we sampled 12-13 different wines, including a bottle from our home state that a previous patron sent him (which amazed me that he was able to walk right to the bottle amongst hundreds throughout the bar). We also had several appitizers and some amazingly fresh pasta. We didn't get out of there until 1230 and probably could have stayed longer, though that may have required help getting back to our hotel. I think the dinner and the wine pairing was listed at 65 or 75 Euro each, but we joined the wine club (which we intended to do before dinner anyway) and the bill ened up quite a bit less.

The food was the best we had during this and our previous trip to Florence, the wine was outstanding, and Zeno's passion and excitement for it was addicting. We even tried to convince the chef (who didn't speak a lick of english), to move out to Washington and cook for us. Zeno translated for us and said she declined, but I don't think he really explained what we were offering or wanted her to leave. It was pretty funny. We confidently suggest that you stop by and enjoy an afternoon or evening with these folks. We joined their wine club and are anxiously awaiting a dozen bottles next month.

Any future trips of ours to the area will certainly include another long evening at Pitti Gola e Cantina.
