The FS of Firenze is the best place where to stay if you want to make your experience of Firenze an unforgetable souvenir... Moreover if you are going there for a very occasion.

OK, the location is isn't perfect, but it's not like it's far from the major attractions of Florence (you will have to walk a few blocks, which you should do anyway since Florence is a city you should walk around). But it's the most beautiful hotel I have stayed at (which includes the Four Seasons in Paris, supposedly one of the best in Europe) and the staff (without exception) couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. And the food was excellent - we were there for 6 nights and had dinner there (mostly in the lounge) five of them, something different every night (there are not many restaurants that I would be able to do that at, and the meals were great).

The hotel itself could be a museum, with beautiful works of art everywhere. The grounds were also spectacular, nothing like you would expect in a city hotel, it was like a private park.

We've been to many Four Seasons hotels, and some of them should send their management and staff here to see how it should be done.

If you are a jaded traveler who has seen it all, then I encourage you to book a week in the Presidential Suite of the Conventino wing of this hotel. You will quickly get first-date butterflys again.

This hotel is so good it’s really difficult to find the superlatives to describe it. There are no hotels like this. It is a wonderous privilege to be able to experience it. You need to check-in, unpack fully… have a shower or a hot bath and then uncork a bottle of wine before walking the grounds.

Literally a palace, this hotel is part of the Medici fortune, purchased by someone with great vision at Four Seasons and then restored to perfection. We spent the first night in suite 121 which was quite musty due to the old fireplace before changing to 701 and 702. These latter suites were indescribable, but I’ll try. Soaring ceilings, frescoes, modern luxury furnishings with historical flair. Hand painted ceiling in the master bedroom dating from the 15th century, laid-in with gold and painted by hand, worth millions. Yours to gaze upon. I laid in bed for an hour just staring at it - and it felt like 10 minutes!

The gardens at the center of the hotel - like a giant secreted 10 acre courtyard. They were just so beautiful. 100 year old sequoias, fountains, statues, and meadows of lawn, kept trim by an army of robot lawnmowers!.. Vast open space (the largest in the city) sitting in the center of Florence, which is crammed together like St. Germain in Paris - a warren of narrow lanes and shops. The hotel’s grounds would be massive if it was a park. But it’s completely closed to those without a reservation here.

The property is so big that we could not find it at first. We were driving all around it and literally did not realize that all the buildings we were driving by, surrounded this hotel.

Food – We were a family of four in a large suite so we ate through in-room dining each day. Meals were excellent. Many qualifying as best ever. After an initial spate of bad-luck in the hotel lounge, with service which let us down, we took aside the front office manager to mention the episode. From that moment forward, all the staff were infallible in every corner of the hotel.

The only constructive criticism one could give would be to change the pool from chlorine to salt-water or ozone. The pool was in such a wonderful treed part of the grounds that we spent long afternoons and evenings there. We have a pool at home which we changed to salt-water which is hygienic in the same way chlorine is and is much healthier for you. The chlorine left our eyes red and smarting. We only know this because we spent so much time in it.. again, because it was so beautiful.

We’re honestly still digesting the magnitude of the good experience here

This is Hotel Mecca.

Stayed here with my family as part of a four day holiday in Florence. The service could not be better: like many Four Seasons, the staff is attentive, friendly and very capable. The buildings themselves are stunning in parts, but very different in styles. If you have a chance, staying in one of the suites on the "Noble Floor" is like a chance to live in a museum. All have huge high (20ft) ceilings and beautiful original decor, including frescos on the ceilings and amazing hand-painted wallpaper panels in one "Gallery Suite". The only problem is that, being so old, the antiquated air conditioning is unable to keep the rooms cool, and so it never got below 25C (77F) on hot summers days. On balance, it was probably worth it for the experience, but sleep came with difficulty even on the very comfortable, firm beds. The modern rooms we had elsewhere are much like many other luxury hotels in Florence: they enjoy high ceilings and large windows looking out over the gardens, and air conditioning that worked perfectly. Breakfasts are excellent but the restaurant is poor for dinner: you can get much better food for much less elsewhere in the city. The only major downside is the location... not really central like the Savoy and yet not on the hills overlooking the city like the Villa Medici. I know some people like it, but it is a 10-15 minute walk, and not the most beautiful of routes, before you get to the Duomo and the proper centre of the city begins. Not what I like myself, but if you are looking for a secluded urban resort this could be exactly what you are after.

My breath was taken away upon entry into the lobby - it was spectacular! I have stayed in many Four Seasons properties - Firenze is the best to date. The gardens are amazingly beautiful. Everything exceeded my expectations. I will have to agree with one other reviewer regarding the beds - they are a bit firm, but that is what we found in many other Italian hotels.

This hotel is world-class. The public spaces are gorgeous. Our junior-suite room and bathroom were spacious and beautiful (although the bed was harder than we would prefer.) We received an unexpected upgrade at check-in. The food in the hotel was good; breakfast was generous with a wide selection and excellent quality. And the service was outstanding in every way.

After returning home, I wished that I had purchased more of the small notebooks with famous artwork covers that I had purchased at various museums around the city, to give as gifts. I sent an email to the Concierge Desk at the Four Seasons. It was promptly answered with a very willing disposition to obtain extra copies of the notebooks for me. I had thought that perhaps the concierges could call to the various museums and have them mailed to the hotel, but in reality what appears to have happened is that the concierge(s) actually went to three different museums in the city center to obtain the exact items that I wanted. And then they were fedex'ed to me in the States. All without charge (other than the actual cost of the items and shipping.) Needless to say, I was very impressed with this level of service -- to someone who had already left the hotel, no less.

I cannot recommend the Four Seasons Hotel Firenze enough. We will definitely stay there when we return to Florence.

Fabulous hotel located in the historic center of Florence. Easy to get around to see the sights, close to shopping, nightlife, etc., The restaurant here is incredible! Il Palagio-had the most incredible presentation and taste for the lamb dish. My friend had the lobster and it was fantastic! We're both "foodies" and loved the menu selection of restaurants and the "The Winery".

We stayed 5 nights, (prompting from our travel agent--we originally thought a 3 night stay would do it), but now we wished we would of stayed a night or two longer! It was great fun going into town during the day and having our private tours set up. Donna Salerno Travel did a wonderful job in orchestrating our trip. We spent some time on the Amalfi Coast and Rome as well.

The rooms at the FS hotel were large (we upgraded to a Premier Room) and the view of the hotel park was relaxing. The bed and linens were comfortable. The room had a large desk and sitting area. They maximized the space for comfort and convenience.

Bathroom in our Premier Room was spacious and had an enclosed shower plus a soaking tub. Really nice to have after a full day of walking around the city! The spa at the hotel had some great massage treatments and the service there was good as well.

We found that there is a golf course about 30 mins. from the hotel and there is tennis and horseback riding nearby.

Service overall at the hotel was exceptional. Typical Four Seasons attentiveness, but with an Italian flair. We loved it and would return in a minute.
