Nice but...

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Sep 16, 2017via mobile
We stayed at Dedo for 3 nights. It was a convenient location to train station. It was also not a far walk to the Duomo and other sites. The hotel was clean. Breakfast was ok. The breakfast room was small. Our room was ok size but bathroom was very narrow. A taller person would have an issue with the bathroom. But we had a wonderful view of the Duomo. We did not know there was an elevator to our floor until after we walked down the stairs with our luggage. The staff was very nice.

Reasonably priced hotel for one night . Clean . Reception staff helpful. Breakfast quite adequate. . Not very close to the heritage area. Recommend taking a taxi to reach there.. the hotel is situated on the3rd floor of the building and rooms on the 4th floor.
On the whole an ok place . We spent just one night hence it was ok.

Dedo Boutique Hotel was indeed a very nice and pleasant surprise to me and made my week stay in Florence much more enjoyable and memorable! This is a boutique hotel. However, the friendliness and helpfulness of the Hotel staff, the cleanness of the room, the details and uniqueness of the hotel decors in the room or in common areas are way more impressive compared to those large franchised hotels at the same price range. The hotel was easy to find using google map. I arrived at the train station (Firenze Santa Maria Novella) from the airport express bus. It was about 6 or 7min walk to the hotel. The Hotel is situated in a large building. The reception is on the third floor. When I got there, other hotel guests were also there waiting for the elevator. (There was no apparent sign at ground floor to indicate the floor number of the hotel or maybe I missed it. Suggest hotel to put up a sign to direct hotel guests.) The check-in was smooth. I was a bit earlier than the 3pm check-in time. My booking was for a single room. The room size was for one person as expected but was more than enough for myself (I traveled with only one full size luggage lightly packed). Bathroom was very practical with shower and with all needed toiletries. Lighting in the bathroom was bright which is my preference. The room was very clean. The location was perfect for my preference. I did not want to be in the center of the tourist attraction areas. I preferred some thing a bit away from the center area but within walking distance for me so I also get to explore the local residential areas away from the tourist center to checkout the restaurants and groceries. The location of Dedo is exactly what I was looking for. It was about less than 15min walk to Ponte Vecchio and the nearby attractions, shops, restaurants and cafe. The breakfast was sufficient but every plate of food was nicely plated and fresh. The hotel staff was also very helpful and flexible in accommodate my request of setting up an extra bed for my friend who also joined me later. Wifi was everywhere in the hotel and in the room with impressive speed. On my second day stay at the Single room, due to some issue with the external pipe of the building, my shower would not drain. It was on the day of a local public holiday, the hotel staff tried his best to contact the hotel maintenance, and in the same time tried many times to solve the problem by himself. Unfortunately the maintenance person was away on holiday and the emergency repair would not arrive until the next morning. The hotel staff explained everything to me and arranged for me a quadroom for us. Although the interruption was a bit inconvenient, but I appreciated very much for hotel's immediate attention and effort to resolve the issue. The shower drainage was fixed the next day. Also because of this interruption, we got to experience the stay in the Hotel's quadroom. It's fairly large room with four beds (1 kind size and 2 single beds). This room is perfect for a family with light luggage with an amazing view of the city. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Dedo very much. This hotel would definitely be my default pick for my next visit!

Reasonable price, great service from staff, the hotel is on the 3rd and 4th floor via a small elevator. Room was clean and modern. Breakfast was good. It is about a 15 minute walk to the main attractions but just a block from the river!

Located about a 10 minute walk from the Santa Maria Novella train station, this is a quaint hotel situated within walking distance to just about every landmark in Florence. There is not a big sign outside but it located very close to the street corner. You take the elevator up to the 3rd floor and you are greeted by staff that makes you feel very welcome. The room is cozy and bed is very comfortable. Every morning you can get some free breakfast which ranges from assorted pastries to cuts of meat and is a great start to the day. It is very affordable for the quality and definitely recommended as there is a great selection of pizzerias just up the street towards the train station.

my room was not so spacious, but clean enough. I felt a little uncomfortable because the air conditioner was hitting me in the bed directly.
the staff were friendly. I had to leave early before breakfast time, but a staff offered I could grab a coffee and some snacks, which was very nice.
