Location: Couldn't be more perfect. It is in a quiet location just a block from the Am. Consulate. It overlooks the Arno and has a view of Ponte Vecchio from the terrace. It is no more than a 15 minute walk to the prime sights. It is two short blocks to markets, restaurants, etc.
The facility: The apt is located on top floor of a 200+ year old palace behind locked scrolled metal gates and a thick wooden door locked at night. It feels very secure! Car park in the inner courtyard at 20 euros/day is a good value.
The apartment: Both bedrooms face the Arno. There are entrances to the terrace from the LR and one bedroom. Kitchen is well stocked with cookware for real cooking. There is a 4 burner stove and a standard size refrigerator.
All condiments must be brought in. You must supply paper towels, dish cloths, and dishwasher soap (2 capsules are provided).
Everything works, the air conditioning, dishwasher, washing machine, hot water, water drains Wi Fi and elevator.
The furnishings are eclectic from a mixture of nearly new leather sofas, some antiques, a junky coffee table. Beds are comfortable. Bathrooms, one en suite, were clean.
The terrace is really the high point of this apt. It is well furnished with a direct view of the Arno. Sunsets were magnificent with a view of the City, distant hills, and Fiesole. It is the perfect place for relaxation with a glass of wine , cheese and a good book.
I cannot do a review without mentioning the indispensable Mary. She arranged the car park, showed us the apartment and was available by phone or in person. She is lovely.
Reservations: A set of keys should be provided to each guest as requested. Only two sets were available. The curling carpet in the living room is a stumbling hazard.
