We have just returned from a trip to Florence with our granddaughter. We were determined to show her the real and wonderful Florence. We certainly hit the jackpot with Taverna Del Bronzino. Though this was our eighth trip to Florence this was the first time at this superior restaurant where along with a great and very unusual menu is in a beautiful "palace" from the Renaissance Period. We could have lingered forever. And are determined to go back again.

My husband and I wandered in without reservations after seeing this restaurant listed in our travel guide-we were not disappointed in the least! The wait service was excellent, they took time to explain the menu and make recommendations, and were all around charismatic. We tried the tartare, truffle risotto, and bore which were all amazing. Dessert is not to be missed! Wonderful addition to our "Eataly" Italy vacation!

I have been to Florence many times and have been to all the best places and this time wanted to try something new and asked our concierge at the hotel for the nice restaurant to go to celebrate my father's 60th birthday and he has recommended this awful place. When we arrived to the restaurant and walked in, it smelled like toilet or a school canteen. At that moment we were already sceptic. This restaurant on the Sat night was half empty and had only american guests!!! NO locals or Italians!!! Then came the waiter and translated all the menu and brought us the wine which was nice presented, so we thought, ok, we give it a try and will stay. When the food was brought, this is were the biggest disoppointment came, all starters and main courses tasted like NOTHING!!! had no taste!!! and after that we have decided to leave without finishing our wine and ordering dessert and went to a nothing restaurant to have a lovely meal, as there are sooo many great restaurants in Florence.

AVOID!!! This restaurant has BAD quality food, no atmosphere!!! only tourist!!

The waiters make this place! Its an off the beaten path location in an older building with little atmosphere but the personal attention of the waiters explaining the extensive offerings is a wonderful example of customer service! Enjoy!

We had lunch at this restaurant and were so impressed that we went back for dinner another evening to have excellent bistecca Florentina. It is a classic restaurant with elegant high-ceilinged rooms and tables with white linen and comfortable dining chairs. The menu was not vast and we were offered Florentine specialities of the day, such as local mushrooms and beans cooked in the Tuscan way. Fish was available but not on Mondays. The waiters were friendly and helpful, speaking Italian to us when we tried our best Italian on them but helping out with English for the more unusual food vocabulary. The wines were very good and the deserts were more interesting and delicious than the usual Tuscan fare.
