Perché no? -why not? It is the best tasting gelato, free of preservatives, and with some special flavours on particular days, as well as many you find elsewhere. My favorites were the lavender, lemon and cream combination, as well as the coffee crunch, and the pistachio. Try it...you'll keep going back!

We were introduced to Perche No through a tour with Florence for Foodies. Very imaginative flavors and everything tasted great.

Exclusively ice cream small shop in the middle of Florence between the Duomo and Piazza dela Signoria. Oldest ice cream place in Florence. Home made fresh daily, large variety. Excellent ice cream (try bacio, try panna cota, try lampone, try every kind); we've been there at least 4-5 times within a week. Open 11:00 am to 11:00 pm daily with one exception when they close at 8:00 pm (can't remember the day). The place is small, catering for take out. You may get one of the 2 seats on the small bench inside, or one of the 2 seats on the small bench in the doorway or one of the 4-6 seats on the bench 10 meters accross the street/via. Otherwise fill up your cone or cup and walk around Florence with the best ice cream you can get. Also at a very good price.
Ice cream advice: while all ice cream is good in Italy, you may want to get ice cream from places that advertise artigianale, home made, or own product.

The above sentence really sums it up. I tried probably 20 ice cream shops from Rome to Venice and this one was by far the best. They only use the freshest ingredients, and therefore do not have every flavor on every night, but what they do have (probably 30 flavors a night) is superb. A must try in Florence
