My wife and I dined at Osteria Cipolla Rossa three times during a recent 10-day visit to Florence. This restaurant was only 200 m from our apartment and, while we dined at several other places, we found Cipolla Rossa to be an excellent choice for both of us. We can recommend the rabbit (coniglio arrosto), the pork roast (braciolona picante) and veal (golosa di vitella), plus any of the pastas and appetizers. The service was excellent, even on a night when the place was full. The staff was friendly and most spoke some English to help us through the menu. The house wine is quite drinkable and every dish we were served was well presented. Prices here were typical of many other decent restaurants (45-55 euros for dinner, including wine) we tried in Florence, but Cipolla Rossa was our favorite.
