Despite hours of pouring over Trip Advisor for restaurant recommendations in Rome, Siena, and Florence, our overall favorite was this one, recommended by our hotel. I was a bit leery when we entered by way of the kitchen; however, settled into the downstairs dining room, I felt the coziness of an historic inn. The menu was quite varied and our server patiently explained the menu and special selections. Both our entrees were excellent and the house wine was very good. My two regrets are 1)that we didn't order the steak florentine [one was searing in the frypan as we were leaving and it looked and smelled amazing] and 2)that we didn't cancel our reservations elsewhere the next night and return to La Pentola dell'Ora.
