“Great place - cheap - locals and tourists go here!”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

This is a small hole-in-the-wall two blocks north of Piazza Della Signoria. Popular with tourists and locals, they have about 20 some-odd different types of sandwiches, and wine. It was 10 euro for 2 glasses of wine and 2 sandwiches.

Long line, and worth a 5-10 minute wait. Just know what you want as soon as you get to the counter so you don’t hold up the line!

Go here for a quick delicious lunch in Florence. Set your wine glass on the shelf with numbers and stand or sit on the sidewalk and just absorb what this great city must have been like back in the Renaissance.

“Yes, yes, yes!”
Reviewed June 11, 2013

This little hole in the wall is a gem! You must go if you are visiting Firenze. It is a perfect little sandwich shop if you are out sight-seeing or strapped for cash. Service is quick, so have your cash ready! The menu consists of about 20 sandwiches, you tell the guys behind the counter which number you want and they make it on the spot! Salami and goat cheese? Don't mind if I do. Pair that with a glass of red wine and I think you have a mighty fine lunch!

“Best Panini Shop”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

This Panini shop was fantastic. Made fresh and toasted on the spot unlike many of the other shops around. Small storefront hard to find but it was worth it. Walking around the piazza Vecchio with a sandwich was a great experience.

“THE sandwich place in Firenze”
Reviewed June 2, 2013

This is the iconic hole-in-the-wall sandwich place in Firenze (Florence), just feet from Piazza Della Signoria. There is a long list of sandwich toppings, and all sound delicious to lovers of authentic Italian food. I had a delicious porchetta myself, roasted pork. And of course, you order a nice glass of red to go with it. Then you chow down on your delicious meal right there in the street, and when you're done you put the wine glass on a little shelf next to the window. Buonissimo!

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

This sandwich shop is a great find; we wished we had discovered it earlier on our trip. There is a wide choice of fillings (30ish), all prepared freshly for you as you wait. Food was fantastic value: most sandwiches were only €2.50. We were very pleased with our choice (Tuscan salami, fennel and goat’s cheese served in a warm roll) - possibly the best sandwiches we have ever eaten!

Worth noting that there wasn’t a closing time explicitly stated, but by 7.40pm it had closed – slightly earlier than we had hoped, or we would have eaten there a second time! Also worth noting that there’s nowhere to sit in and eat – it’s very much a place to take away.
