“The epitome of fine artisanal cooking”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

What an experience. What looked like a leather bound telephone directory was brought to the table. But this was just the extensive wine list. Indeed the menu is brought in person, and every dish is explained in great detail and sounds amazing, if a little intimidating if you are not an offal fan. Be brave, you will be rewarded in spades. The food is exquisite.

“Gastronomic experience”
Reviewed December 26, 2012

One member of our group, a young Italian-speaking aspiring cook, wanted to try Cibréo because he admires chef Fabio Picchi's book. We went for a delightful lunch on Christmas Eve and were shown to our table by Picchi himself. It was not cheap - about 250 Euro for six 2-course menus, 2 bottles of high quality wine, and 6 coffees - but delicious. Cibréo represents the best of the Tuscan style in that everything is local and fresh. If you are looking for a memorable dining experience, I definitely recommend this small, bustling, informal, and absolutely delicious place.

“Paying for the experience”
Reviewed November 29, 2012

I consider this restaurant an 'experience' place. The food was very good, but wasn't mind blowing. But, you do sample a variety of traditional Tuscan food. I had a bad experience with tripe in Paris and was hesitant to try when we were brought a sample. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty it was. I had stuffed rabbit (which was the first time I had rabbit) - I am glad I tried it. My wife had a fish dish that was presented wrapped up in aluminum foil. That was probably the only disappointing part of the meal.

“Delicious, inventive and fun!”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

A somewhat adventurous dining experience. We actually liked having someone sit down to review the menu with us. She answered questions and offered suggestions. Food and wine were delicious and well priced for a restaurant. The dining room itself was charming. The only distraction was the fast pace of everyone who worked there, whizzing by. It became tiring after a while.

“Cafe Reasonable, Formal Ristorante Bad”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

There are three restaurants at this road junction; the "Cafe" was less expensive, more casual and reasonable. However, the formal "Ristorante" on the other corner has no written menu, is pretentious, the food was expensive and not remarkable. The fact that they sat my family of 4 adults in the "overflow back room" after I had taken the trouble to visit two days earlier and made the reservation in person (with the Manager Christina?) was really not acceptable. We almost left immediately after being seated in the empty "back room" and abandoned for some time. However, it was late and the restaurant was about 1 km. from our hotel near the Duomo, so we "bit our lips" & pride, ate the dinner and left. NEVER AGAIN ~ DONT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT EVER. [Go to Giovanni's or to Cantinetta Antinori; both relatively near the Duomo]
