“Top drawer traditional fare (gluten free too)”
Reviewed December 8, 2013 via mobile

This is your classic top drawer traditional Italian, full of vintage waiters catering or your every need. This of course doesn't come cheaply but we came mainly because they also offer lots of gluten free options on the menu. The place itself is lush, the food and house wine were fantastic, including the gluten free dishes. It's a stone's throw from Ponte Vecchio and obviously a favourite among well-heeled Fiorentini. We loved it.

“Delicious and unpretentious”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

We received recommendations for this trattoria from one of our guides and from the concierge at our hotel. It is very unpretentious -- a relatively small restaurant with white table cloths and numerous waiters who could not have been more helpful. The food is not fancy, but it is very good. The pasta is very light and fresh -- with seasonal Portobello mushrooms with new olive oil -- and was delicious. I also had local sole with lemon and butter. it was very light and tasty. The wine list was not long, but we had one of the best Italian Chardonnays, a Cervara Della Sala from Umbria, made by Antinori.

“Doesn't live up to expecatations”
Reviewed November 16, 2013

Like a few others, we too found this restaurant in 'Where Chefs Eat', and were expecting a lot better. The service was very friendly it must be said and after being asked to move table (which we had reserved) we were given complimentary prosecco and well looked after. The food was not what I would call fine dining or something beyond the reach of a good home cook. The pasta was very pedestrian. The fresh Fettuccine and peas turned out to be Taglierini and peas, with no explanation or apology. Suffice it to say really not worth Eur 20. Grilled lamb was ok, but again nothing special but the veal and artichoke could have kept the olive oil industry afloat for a while. All in all, despite the good service, we will not be returning.

“Delicious and authentic!”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

Our meal at Trattoria Cammillo completely exceeded our expectations. The restaurant was recommended to us by the concierge at our hotel in Tuscany, the Borgo San Felice, and since all their other recommendations had been terrific, we decided to try it. We had an amazing lunch of pasta, grilled lamb, sauteed greens, fried zucchini flowers, persimmon tiramisu and the most amazing Florentine dessert, Schiacciata con l'Uva, which was amazing! We loved this meal!
