We stayed at Rifredi in May. It was our first time in Florence. When we showed a taxi driver the address, he was confused. Apparently he didn't know where the B&B was located as it is not in the heart of Florence. He called his dispatcher office and was good after that. The driver left us around the corner as there was a market going on at the time right in front of the B&B and he couldn't get the car in. No biggie for us. It was just a few steps away.
Once inside we were greeted by Emanuelle. He showed us our room and bathroom (as it was outside of bedroom). And the common areas. The room was large for two also had a loft type upstairs with another bed. The room had a/c but it was cool/rainy during our stay that we didn't use it. There was a window facing the garden that I loved. Emanuelle was very helpful showing us the bus routes, places for eating and anything that might be going on in the center of town. A big hit for us was Nerbone inside the San Lorenzo market recommended by Emanuelle. The bathroom and room were cleaned. On our last day we were able to leave our luggage to go to the market and come back to pick it up and continue our trip to Rome. We really appreciated that we didn't have to lug our bags.
In all even though the B&B is not in the center of Florence we would stay here again. Take the bus and you're there in the center in about 15 minutes. It was quiet and the breakfast was really nice. Our host was very helpful.

Beautiful place, very clean, quiet, easy accessible by bus, delicious breakfast and Elda, the owner of the guesthouse was very friendly and helpful, the place is worth more than it costs... I will definitely go back there if I'm in Florence again and I will recommend it to anybody that goes to Florence

Rifredi B&B is a very nice place to stay in Firenze, it is located next to the train station Rifredi so it is possible to get to the center in 5min by train and 15min by bus to sesto fiorentino. The rooms are equiped with aircondition, television and nice beds and they are very clean. The bathrooms are big, clean and relative new. The best part of the B&B is the family that runs it they are very friendly and helpfull, and the mother also bakes fresh cake everyday for breakfast. It is italian breakfast but it is so good so even a dane is satisfied with it:) All in all, is it a B&B were you feel welcome and as home, it is absolute a place I would choose again.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights in the B&B Rifredi one year ago. Since then we went back to Florence few times and have been there. Location is very convenient and close to central Florence, but not so close to get all the crowd. Rooms are clean and big. Breakfast is delicious. The landlady Elda is an extravalue. I really recommend this B&B for few days of relax in Florence.

As an American, I was at first reluctant to stay at a bed and breakfast, because my Italian is not very good. However, Rifredi Bed and Breakfast was strongly recommended to me by my Italian colleague. The rooms are beautiful in this quiet, relaxing bed and breakfast. All rooms come with free high-speed internet connection. The hosts were exceedingly nice and the complimentary breakfast was exceptional with a different pastry selection each morning.
The price is quite affordable. The location is 2 miles from the city center, but the public transit is cheap and efficient. The surrounding area (Piazza Dalmazia) is charming with very nice restaurants, shops, and an outdoor market. This lodging is quite a bit cheaper than any that can be found in the city center, so don't be intimidated by the brief commute on public transit.
