We stayed there for two nights. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean. Terrace has beautiful view on the river and Florence. Just 5 minutes by taxi from the main rainstation - costed us 10 EUR only. The only issue we had was the room we had first night - it was located on the same floor where the lobby is and where they serve breakfast - room number 6 -so we have heard through the door all the visitors moving late night to their rooms and also everyone going for the breakfast early morning. We have asked to change the room and they moved us to the upper floor which was much better. So when you book - ask for the rooms on upper floor.

This is our second visit to The Silla - a recommendation in itself.
All the staff are extremely pleasant and helpful, the breakfast on the terrace is very good, in a lovely location overlooking the city. The hotel is clean and is very peaceful considering it is so central and convenient for sightseeing. It has a charming old world ambiance. The garage is very useful if you want to park the car and forget it while you are in Florence. The hotel provided a netbook with the room which was a new feature.

1.) The Staff- very helpful and spoke good english. I realized a couple of weeks before our trip that we should have 2 museum reservations. Laura made these for us in a very timely manner. Thank you.
There was also a helpful bellhop that helped us with our luggage.
2.) Hotel - Very clean with a nice breakfast and a really nice terrace to enjoy it. Also a bar and a computer near the reception. The hotel was also quiet which was nice to have in busy Florence.
3.) Location - I thought the location was excellant. It is just across the river from town center and easy walking distance to the Uffizi Gallery.
There is also a nice quiet park between the hotel and the river. There are also several restaurants on the same side.
4.) Room - This was the nicest room on our whole trip. It seemed to be much like an american size hotel room and was very clean.
Would I stay here again? Absolutely.

Hotel Silla does a wonderful job of taking care of their visiters. My husband stayed here 10 years ago with our son and we were glad to see that the service and accomodations are still outstanding. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family. Very well situated close to everything, yet far enough away to not be congested. We drove into Florence and Silla has parking available also which we found to be rare in Italy! Plan to go back again!
