Have been a few time in Florence this time stay out side the town apr 15 minute from Florence.
It was difficult to find the hotel as it is located on the mountain Clift on a small road from the ,main road . Entry is trough an nice closed parking lot .
The reception was very helpful and gave a lot of information for eating and shopping in all the outlets shopping centers out side Florence .
We have made a reservation for a large two level suites on top of the hotel 3 room a very big living room very nice equipped with a small full equipped kitchen incl coffee machine. A big bed room and second floor a even bigger bed room two bath room one on each floor .
The view is amazing down to Florence from the balcony and big windows .
As it was the last week for the season we where almost alone in the hotel and the staff was very helpful great breakfast in the garden near the nice pool.
If you have difficult with stairs it is not a hotel for you as there is a lot of them .
A perfect hotel

This hotel is a perfection, the staff is very helpful, the appatments are perfect, the view is beautiful, very design, with all services, if you want you can eat in your room or in the restaurant. Special thanks to Daniele for his welcome.

Room Tip: If you want a view of Florence ask room 301 it's the best romantique suite.

We've been to Florence before & stayed in town, but this time wanted the flexibility of having a hire car with us plus we wanted ample room for our 14 year old daughter. This hotel fitted the bill; t had a large secure underground car park, which was entered in a Bondesque fashion, and large suites which had full sized double sofa beds in the sitting room areas separated by a bathroom and a small corridor with a door at both ends. Thus we had privacy, plus the security of not having separate rooms. The rooms were decorated in a sort of practical chic, with a dining table and small kitchenette area with a Nesspresso machine, sink and dishwasher. Not über luxurious, but really practical and smart. The bathroom was clean, modern, white & stylish, with a view to die for. On the down side, the shower was not the best. However, we paid the little extra for the balcony view, and what a view! We could sit on our twenty metre long balcony and just look at all the major sights in Florence. On our last night we dispensed with dinner in Florence and just bought some bread, cheese & Prosecco and sat on the balcony. My only regret is that I didn't bring my binoculars with me. Perhaps the hotel could rent them. Breakfast was included, was good and typically European with great coffee, and could be brought to room for a 12 Euro cover charge. Personally, we like where breakfast was normally served in an enclosed area by the pool in front of the Goldfinger style cliff hotel. The pool was too chilly for late October, but looked great. We didn't have an evening meal in the hotel. Buses to Florence ran every 20 minutes until about 21:00 and then about every 35 minutes after that until around 00:30. A round trip to Florence was €2; taxis were expensive. The bus dropped you off right by the hotel but, as the road was not very pedestrian friendly, the staff ran you the 800m down to the small town we're you caught the bus and bought your tickets. Overall, getting to town was not an issue and the hotel staff explained the process clearly and we never had to wait for a lift to the bus. We even met a Californian couple on the bus who thought it great. One aspect you might consider, whilst the hotel does have a lift, there are still a lot a steps. Whilst they are modern wide and marble, it might be worth checking with the hotel if you have mobility issues as our room was a reasonable climb; but worth it for the view. Oh, and I forgot to mention, the staff were great.

Overall, for the criteria I set out, hire car and teenage daughter, the hotel was perfect.

And the view? Eat your heart out E. M. Forster!

Room Tip: Pay extra for the view!

Everything and more that you can expect from a hotel just outside of Florence. You can feel that you are close to the city but you can also feel that you are in beautiful Tuscany! Staff is very helpful. Rooms are great - large, modern and comfortable. Prices are reasonable. But car is recommended. Def the best stay in our 9 day Italy trip.

Room Tip: Panoramic view rooms are great.

This is our second stay at Eden Rock, 2.5 years after our first. The first time we stayed for 10 nights, this time around for 6 nights - so that should say something about how much we enjoy it.

If you're looking for the hustle and bustle of the Old City, you won't find it here. There's no cobblestone streets, centuries old buildings and hordes of people.

But the Old City is only 15 minutes away by bus, or less by car. We use it as a base not only to get-to-know and explore Firenze, but the surrounding countryside of Tuscany, including Umbria and Chianti and to the coast.

Eden Rock is a contemporary renovation of an establishment built in the 1950s into a wonderful location on the side of a rock in the hills to the north of Florence. It has a gorgeous picture postcard view across to the other hill of Fiesole and down the valley to the Duomo and old city - of itself, this is enough to instill a sense of calm and tranquility. The suites are comfortable, have everything you need (perhaps a microwave would be helpful) and are of high quality without being over-the-top. The breakfast is balanced. While a limited menu - which is understandable - the in-house lunch/dining was surprisingly very good and tasty on the one occasion we used it.

But most of all, what brought us back is the people. Led by Daniele, who is wonderful, and including Walter, Sylvia & others, the staff are friendly, warm, efficient and helpful.

We don't know when we will return to Firenze but we will; and when we do, we will stay here again.

In the meantime, Forza Viola!

We arrived at Eden Rock after a disappointing experience at our previous place. What a contrast! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel as welcome as long-lost friends. The management and staff were amazing - friendly, helpful, willing to go the extra mile to ensure we had a good time. Which we did. The rooms are suites, well appointed, spacious, stylish. Food was excellent and it was so relaxing to eat by the pool in a peaceful, secure environment. Views from the rooms were up to Fiesole and down to Florence. The night view from the roof stays in the memory. Terrific, and highly recommended.

Florence was a last stop... called and made a reservation. From the outside, it is nothing special. The manage took my bag and brought us the Imperial Suite... Wow, what a suite!! 2 floors, I love this suite! The view, the decor, everything!
The manage Daniel is so great, very helpful and guiding us where to visit in the area. Love to retune to this place!
