My husband and I are young newlyweds who were looking to get an authentic, non-touristy Florence experience. IL Torrino is beautiful, quaint, and romantic. Pierro and Letizia are the owners of IL Torrino and they are absolutely wonderful! They picked us up from the Train station, provided outstanding hospitality, helped us navigate through Florence and truly went above and beyond. lL Torrino is a beautiful B & B that I would recommend to anyone! We got several recommendations to stay at Il Torrino and truly couldn't have been more pleased. If you want to experience Florence I would highly recommend staying at IL Torrino, its Amazing!

It is a lovely house on the hill overlooking Florence. It is only 10minutes by bus from Florence. It is perfect because you enjoy the city without being trapped with all the tourists. The view from the house and the grounds are beautiful. It is close to Fiesole, which is a small city in a hill and very nice to explore. The room is comfortable. The bathroom is clean and very nicely renovated. Our host Laetizia was amazing, she prepared a royal breakfast for us every morning sometimes driving us to the city, she offered fresh figs from her garden, she gave us a bottle from her delicious homemade wine, she baked us a cake ! She is always available for information and tips. We miss her very much!

Just came back from a super holiday in Switzerland, Austria and Italy.
We stayed in Florence at a B&B located not too far from the city centre ( easy bus routes available )
My daughter attended the NYU school at La Pietra ( which is very close to Il Torrino ) --and this B&B was recommended to us by friends.
Although we initailly wanted to be at the cenre of the "action" --we are GLAD we opted for this place. It's only mid-may , and downtown Florence already resembles a zoo!! Too many tours and people make sight-seeing an exhausting experience.
Which is one of the many reasons Il Torrino is the perfect getaway from the many hassles of the city centre in Florence.
Il Torrino is owned and run by a delightful lady --Letizia Castrucci. Her place is impeccably clean and has all the amenities ( individuality , character etc. etc. ) one associates with a well run B&B. Leti is very gracious to even pick you up from railway station or airport --if you can make prior arrangements. she will provide concise instructions to take buses into Florence ( a mere 10 minutes away ) if required. her breakfast spread is plentiful and varied. The best part is that she is a charming lady with a genuine intention to make your stay in her city as comfortable and as memorable as possible.
The added bonus for us was meeting Piero --Leti's husband ( a retired air force pilot who works as a consultant now ). He was to us a charming man who regaled us with his air force experiences and his culinary talents at making pasta from scratch.
Oh! --did i mention the lovely view of Fiesole from the bedroom window and the olive groves and vines in the garden from which Leti makes her own olive oil and wine that she will let you taste?
I wholeheartedly recommend this place for the traveller who wants to enjoy the city of Florence and yet be able to retreat into the quiet "countryside" should he choose to do so.
For us --this was the best of both worlds.
Ciao!
