Ciao Francesca, finally I am writing to share such a special and unique accommodation experience. We stayed here in early January 2013, had a fabulous apartment and our teenage son was impressed with the spatial surroundings and to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of traditional Italian buildings. Truly fantastic location, across the lane to the Accademia and lovely walks to the centre of Florence. We had amazing weather and the sun shone every day. Who wants to stay in an impersonal Hotel when you can have this kind of unique experience in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Mille gracie. A presto.

Ciao!!
thank you so much to stay with Us! we are very happy you enjoyed your stay in Florence ...in january usually it's very cold but you was very lucky to find good weather .
our city is wonderful all season but during the winter you can enjoy truly everything as the museums are quiet and without line outside and the cafe and restaurants are so comfortable and cozy!
see you soon!

Best wishes

Very good option for a family stay in Florence. Location is excellent, right in front of the Galleria where Michaelangelo's David is exhibited and very close to the Duomo (cathedral). It's also near San Marco square where buses for Fiesole depart. The apartment is comfortable, nicely decorated (paintings in the roof of the linig room!) and the kitchen very complete. There is a small supermarket few meters away where you can get what you need for cooking (but it closes early) Owner Francesca is friendly and helpful. Keep in mind that cleaning during your stay is limited to stretching the beds. The only drawback from our 3.night stay is that, precisely, garbage was not removed until we left. Otherwise it's an excellent choice which I would recommend.

Thanks for taking the time to write. We shall make every effort to be clearer in our literature that the rooms are made-over only every three days, and how to dispose of the room trash. Thank you for pointing this out. We hope that one day you might come back. It was wonderful to meet with you.

We returned for a stay in the San Giovani apartment in February 2013. We stayed here in 2010 when our son was studying in Florence and were so happy to return because our daughter is studying there now. We love everything about the Alfani. The apartments, location, Francesca and her family!! It is a beautiful and elegant residence in a fabulous location. If you want to feel like you are "home" while staying in Florence, this is the place! My daughter will be staying in March while her boyfriend comes to visit. Francesca, we miss it already and hope it wont be three years before we are back!

Room Tip: The San Giovai was perfect because it has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The large bedroom is huge...

My mother, sister and I recently stayed at Palazzo Alfani and wanted to thank Francesca for her help and hospitality. The apartment was wonderfully decorated and spacious enough for three (twin beds and large sofa bed). The location is great, within walking distance to all the sights and bang opposite 'David' Accademia - you can literally look out your window and go to the gallery when there is no queue! Would return but would request an apartment on the first floor, as for my mother, there were just too many steps up to the second floor. Thanks again Francesca - Florence is beautiful and you must stay here...

Thank you for finding the time to comment! We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Yes - we do have stairs (rather beautiful ones - in original pietra siena and we have restored the original banister to its former glory), but for anyone not entirely fit, best to request a room on the first floor - you are exactly right.

When they say these residence apartments are close to the Galleria Accademia and the famous statue of David, they are not exaggerating. Literally we walked 10 steps to the front door and were gazing at David. Amazing. The small bookstore next door sold us our tickets to get right in and sold us our reserved Uffizi tickets for the next day (thanks to Francesca Alfani for that recommendation.) We walked to every major sight in historic Florence within 15-20 minutes from here. There is a small grocery about 5 doors down where you can pick up snacks. Cafes, bakery and restaurants are all right around the corner in the piazza and thanks again to Francesca's recommendation we ate at Ristorante Accademia a lot! The apartments are just that - large, spacious and elegant apartments - we stayed in the Santo Spirito apartment and while there is no longer a large carpet in the living room nor the wooden mirror on the bedroom wall, everything else is as pictured on their website. It was large and we could comfortably live here forever. The bathroom shower is big and works great. The towels were big, there were shower essentials at hand, we were supplied coffee, tea, sugar and the kitchen was adequately furnished (big refrigerator with freezer.) After spotty to no WiFi in other places we stayed it was such a convenience to have fast and reliable Internet. It is true that there is no lift and I was concerned because we had quite a bit of luggage but we were assisted both coming and going so it was quite manageable. My husband and I found this to be our favorite place to stay on our trip. We really felt at home and the Alfanis, even with a sick child to care for, made sure we had everything we needed for a most pleasant stay. They are wonderful hosts. When we come back to Florence we want this always to be the place we stay!

Glad that you enjoyed it so much! Ristorante Accademia around the corner is a marvellous local eatery and you it's rather nice having Michelangelo's David as a neighbour! Perhaps one day you might come back and stay again!

Regrettably its taken a long time to send this review.I was unwell on returning to Australia, and then
kept procrastinating.Nevertheless left it on my email list because I was determined to thank ,
Francesca of Alfani Al David with a proper reviiew .Francesca was a very friendly and helpful
host .The apartment there was very comfortable, elegant and had all the conveniences.
It is located very centrally in Firenze, with a major Gallery almost opposite. My wife and I loved being in Florence and we would gladly go back there and to Francesca's apartment if we can return to Italy again .It was definitely the best apartment we stayed in during our 10 weeks travelling around Europe. Thanks Richard and Alannah Davies

We (2 adults and 2 kids) spent two nights in the Palazzo Alfani, and it was great, the owners are friendly and extremely helpful, the location is fantastic and within walking distance of most of the attractions in town, the Accademia is just a couple of feet away from the front door.
Probably one of the best places we stayed in with the kids, and we will be very happy to visit again.
