In UK, being recommended a restaurant opposite a main railway station you would not be excused for expecting a fast food outlet with laminated pictures of the dishes selotaped to the window. How different this experience. A modern roomy and lively restaurant serving the most delicious food. I could not imagine how prawns served in a carpaccio style would arrive. Watching other's meals being brought up from the kitchen made me realise all the dishes were artistically presented. Mine did not disappoint.
Sadly the over chatty couple next to me meant I moved on for desert and coffee

We walked by Pescheria San Pietro several times before trying it. Each time a chef was making something in the front window. One day it was ravioli and another a cream for desert and another bread. The menu leans towards fish and pastas with fish filling or sauce. We tried the Dory with artichoke and a pasta with clams and one with calamari. All were delicious. The bread (3 different homemade kinds) were the best we've had in a restaurant. There is also a small vegetarian menu. It is located across the street from the train station. Though it is a short walk from the center of town it is definitely worth the trip.

This restaurant has great style as well as excellent food. Modern and stylish décor, comfortable chairs, well spaced tables and efficient service all added to our enjoyment of this last meal in Florence. The freshly made ravioli with tomato sauce was second only to the ravioli we ate in Como about 10 years ago and still dream about. Our main course, baked sea bream with vegetables was absolutely fresh, beautifully cooked, then dissected and served by our waiter at the table. We hardly encountered a bone. Lots of well prepared vegetables came with the fish included in the price of 38 Euros for two. A bit on the hefty side but value for money and not too bad for the waist line because there was no room left for sweets.

We visited this restaurant for dinner in April 2014, table for 2.

Food: really quite beautifully done. One of us started with the grilled octopus and the other, the shrimp carpaccio. The octopus was done really nicely, tender and filled with flavour. The shrimp carpaccio was extremely interesting - it wasn't clear where the shrimp actually were on the plate at first, but they had been lightly cooked, then thinly sliced into a flat layer that covered the plate uniformly, with onions and a touch of bacon for seasoning. It was absolutely delicious. The rest of the meal was solid but not quite as memorable. The seafood pasta was done well, but the portion size was disappointingly small, given the cost.

Service: menus in different languages. Despite how empty the restaurant was (we dined quite early), it felt like it was difficult to get the attention of staff. Again, given the pricing tier of the restaurant, the service on the disappointing side.

Location: right around the corner from Santa Maria Novella train station - really easy to access.

Value: Price was not cheap. True, you're getting fish (which didn't seem to be all that common in Florence). But given the relatively high prices and the small portion sizes, it felt like that one was certainly paying a premium to eat fish in Florence.

Overall: The food had some hits, and some unmemorable but still good dishes, with small portion sizes given the price. Service was middling. May be worth a visit if in the area or craving fish, but avoid if on a budget.
