Well i am pretty much impressed to see a lot of good comments about this "hostel" .
Wish what should I start .
Firstly I am a traveler and I have been in few hostels around Europe . This one disappointed me as u cannot imagine , I had a private room .

Why to not go there :
- small and dirty
- the smell in the room was of something similar with not cleaning properly for days
- the sink we had in the room spread awful gem
- bathroom dirty
- to hot inside (they pretend on Internet that they have air conditioned but actually we got a fan if u are lucky which makes a noise similar to a taking off plane )
- the window opened to interior court as that all the neighbors could see your bed

Definitely I would avoid "Hotel etrusca" whenever I gonna glance it .

Yes, is a good place to spend a day in Florence, especially if you don't need to spend lots of time in hotel. Basic and confortable room (ac in our room). Was really quiet and clean and the staff was very friendly. I reccomend this place to all the people who don't need luxury but just a room to sleep and feel confortable.

The staff is the best thing there. Rooms are simple but confortable and in general the place is clean. Perfect location.

This place is cheap and within walking distance of the train station in the town, however, calling it "hotel" is a joke. It looks nothing like the pictures. Our rooms smelled bad, sheets were stained, and the curtains were just sheer pieces of muslin. The shutters to keep the light out only came down a third of the way.
There was a construction site right at the back during our stay (Aug 2011) so lots of noise. And lots of bed bugs too. We also had some souvenirs of hairs in the sink from previous occupants of the room.
Initially, the staff was friendly. On our second day there, one of the guys banged on the door at 8am to tell us we needed to change rooms - we'd booked a twin; they wanted us in a room with just one double bed - we refused to move. After this, the staff was unfriendly and unhelpful and pretty much ignored us.
From a practical point of view, there is just one key if you are part of a group sharing one room - which is annoying. The elevator is very, very small - all the rooms are on the 3rd floor. Occupants of the rooms are not allowed to keep the air con remote in their own room, instead have to go to reception every time you need it.
Overall, staying at this unaccommodating and dirty hostel had a negative impact on the trip to the beautiful town of Florence.

Our impression of the Hotel Etrusca got off to a wonderful start thanks to the desk attendant, Nalin. He was undoubtedly one of the kindest, most accommodating people we met during our entire two week European odyssey. The rooms were a tad small (the bathroom was practically microscopic!), but how much time should one really spend in a hotel room when they're in Florence, Italy?! Four of us had no problem sleeping and bathing comfortably in one room, and the views were expansive and gorgeous!

The hostel was a quick, easy walk from the train station, and the perfect distance from everything we wanted to see and do (Ufizzi, Academia, Basilica of Santa Croce, the Piazza della Signoria, tons of street vendors, fresh food market, etc.). There's even a great little bar right across the street that does really good food and its own craft beers that aren't too shabby! Plus they're open late. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

I stayed at the Hotel Etrusca, booking through a hostel site. The rooms were dingy, the reception was dirty and cluttered, the beds practically had springs poking out of them, and the walls were so thin that the desk worker's screaming kid woke me up early in the morning. The location is fine but there is a lockout between 10 and 2 for guests.

After my stay, I left a review on the booking site and was rewarded with an incredibly nasty email from the owner. Basically, he used every Italian slur he could think of and called me scum and filth for staying in a cheap hotel. Frankly, after that behavior, I wouldn't recommend this place to an enemy!

Cheap and easy - location is great. shared bathroom. Owner will tell you anything you need to know. Set up is a bit weird.
