Owner description: Acclaimed since 1996 for our great guides and tours, we offer the original, small-group Best of Tuscany tour, as well as wonderful guided tours of Florence, Venice, Rome and the Cinque Terre. Our tours are high-quality, entertaining, informative and fun! We love sharing Italy on a more personal level and with our small group sizes, we refuse to make you feel like a tourist. Our highly-qualified guides are passionate, have a sense of humour and enjoy bringing history to life. They include historians, aristocrats, wine makers, art sleuths, well-known journalists, guide writers, as well as talented artists and authors. What’s more, we are an ASTA approved, fully-licensed tour operator. We promise we are anything but ordinary, and we guarantee we are the Original & Best.

We loved both the tours we did with you. We first had a glance of Florence with the city tour and then discovered the museum the Uffizi with wit and professionalism. Both guides were amazing and very helpful and friendly.

We would also like to thank the team of Artviva again for their extreme help to get us to the tours as we were caught by traffic and appeared too late. That was really appreciated.

Keep on the good work and we will certainly recommend your tours to our friends and family.

It's very difficult to list the highlights of this Artviva tour because the whole day was absolutely exceptional. Guided by friendly, knowledgable Sasha, we visited three hilltop towns - Siena, San Gimignano and Monteriggioni. None were crowded as it was mid March and we enjoyed wandering through the village piazzas, taking in spectacular views of Tuscan hills and villages and learning about the historical pilgrimages, religious phenomena and culture. Around mid-day, we stopped for a vineyard tour, wine-tasting and lunch at Guardastelle, a privately-owned estate near San Gimignano. Host Fausto explained the operation to us, then invited us into his 200 year old farm house for wine-tasting and a traditional Tuscan lunch.

This tour was well focused and brilliantly planned. The driver was excellent and it was easy for us to get to know the other five people who joined us for a truly exceptional day in Tuscany. I would not hesitate to book this or any other tour with Artviva, who have an office in Florence and a flair for blending culture, scenery, fine dining and friendship in the tours they offer.

We thoroughly enjoyed Helen and this tour. She has an extensive art background so you get more than just the standard playsheet. If you come to Florence, this is a very good tour to take. And you definitely need to come to Florence.

We just returned from the above tour and have nothing but praise for the entire experience. We were met promptly by our guide and driver Mark and taken to two beautiful villas in the Chianti Region of Tuscany. At the first villa we were met by Matilda, our English speaking guide who was very knowledgable and lead us through the grounds of the villa. At the end of this first leg of the tour we were seated in a lovely dining area where we had a wine tasting of three of the wines from the villa along with olive oil, Tuscan bread and cheese. Next we traveled to our second stop where we were met by Melanie, also English speaking and an expert in the wine making process at the Villa Calcinaia, home of the Capponi family. We were led through the gardens and the cellars which enabled us to experience the wine and olive oil making process. we were then lead to a table set with wines and olive oil from the villa and assorted sweets and nuts.

This was a wonderful tour and well worth the money. The tour lasted about 4 hours and the site was very easy to locate. Mark was a wonderful driver and guide. He was both entertaining and informative and Matilda and Melanie were expert in their knowledge of the villas and the wines as well as the wine making process and olive oil making process. We highly recommend this tour to all.

Our family recently visited Florence with our 10 year old son and 8 year old niece. We did the Florence Walking Tour and Uffizi Tour and we were extremely pleased. Both guides were fun, energetic and very knowledgeable! They love of the city, its history and their jobs as it was apparent every minute of the tours. We did the Uffizi visit with Sylvia as our guide - she was incredible! She provided lots of interesting tidbits on the art work and kept both of the young people entertained for three hours. Not an easy feat…
