I've been at Alloro in December, 2011, I didn't even know about Tripadvisor at the time.
It is a smallish B&B, run by a family. I called to say I was arriving late, and the owner himself waited for other 30 minutes, as my train was delayed, to make my check-in.
It was a very pleasant surprize to see how friendly and receptive he was to my needs. It is true I am not a difficult person, but I've been working with the public for the last 9 years, I can perceive quite well when somebody is genuinely interested in a guest's wellbeing.
I've even left my luggage at the reception desk at my departure, and they kept it for half a day.
Breakfast was also ok, more than I would have expected it to be, comparable to a 3* hotel.
Like it, and will return!

We stayed at the Alloro for a week (last week). Our hosts were friendly, professional and very helpful. The rooms were always clean and the staff who cleaned the rooms were lovely and friendly. Our room was spacious and beautifully painted. The breakfasts were great. So much to choose from. The location of the B&B is just on the outskirts of central Florence - ideal for getting to the Duomo and the museums. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to any of our family and friends.

Our three night stay at Alloro was perfect. We prefer B&B's over big hotels and this one rates as one of the best. Our room was beautifully decorated and spacious. It was a very relaxing place to come back to at the end of the day. Breakfast each morning was delightful - frest fruit, homemade yoghurt, breads, - a great way to start each day. The staff was friendly and very helpful. It's centrally located near the train station and within walking distance to the Duomo, Medici Chapel, Uffiizi, markets and shopping. Great little restaurants right around the corner. Highly recommend staying here.

We loved Florence and Alloro B&B was part of the reason. Our room was a quiet haven: beautifully decorated, comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast was excellent and the staff welcoming and helpful. The location was excellent and only a 2-3 minute walk to the Duomo.
It was particularly useful finding parking inside the 'traffic limited zone' a mere 10 metres from the doors to the B&B! Highly recommended.

Close to the railway station and also close to the Duomo, we booked Alloro B&B. We were welcomed by very friendly staff. Our room was very big, and had a wonderfully painted original ceiling. The location was quiet (we had a room at the back of the building, whilst the reception is in the front), beds were very firm, good quality.
It was nice to have a water cooker to make tea or coffee. Breakfast was good as well. We would come back here if ever visiting Florence again!!

Value for money, good access from Firenze Santa Maria Novella station. Easy walking distance to all major tourist spot, approximately 5 minutes walking to Florence Duomo. Good breakfast, high recommended. Christian and his father has been the most welcoming.
