Owner description: This outdoor museum space is a peaceful place to rest your weary feet after a long day of sight seeing. Admire some of Florence's most iconic original sculptures from Cellini's "Perseus" to Giambologna's "Rape of the Sabines."

We visited here in early October 2013. We loved the loggia for the wonderful sculptures that are here for all the public to see, walk around and touch. There is a real sense of being at the heart of the city touching back to its history of art and culture.

Another must do in florance is that open air free museum. Having many marble sculptures in piazza della signorina- one of the most famous is perseus and medusa.

Just as incredible as just about everything in Florence. Sculture of thr highest standard which can be viewed without entering a museum.

You can view a few amazing statues here, including the famous marble piece by Giambologna, The Rape of the Sabine Women. Nice shady place to rest your tired feet and sit along the wall to gaze out onto Piazza della Signoria, after your visit to the nearby Uffizi,

This beautiful loggia is located in Piazza della Signoria across from Palazzo Vecchio. It is one of the free things you can do in Florence but depending how much you are into art it will not take you that long to wander through these replica statues. All of the originals are located in various museums around Florence. It is nice to see during the day but I much prefer it at night because the lighting is more dramatic. If you are in the area at that time, pass by. There are usually street artists performing. Grab some gelato, sit on a step and enjoy Florence at night. It is a real thrill!
