We stayed here for 2 nights last summer before driving to Tuscany. After struggling to find the hotel by car, we were made very welcome by the receptionist and (i think) owner. As it was a weekend we were able to park directly outside the hotel although there is off street car parking available too.
The hotel has a nice traditional feel to it, and the rooms are very comfortable although fairly basic. The breakfast each morning was great, and there was plenty of choice. The owner was very helpful in recommending tips and providing tourist information.
We spent a lot of time walking, particularly along the Arno. The tourist 'loop' bus also stops close to the hotel so we decided to buy a 24hr pass which helped us to discover the city in a relatively short amount of time, and conviniently delivered us back to the hotel when it was pouring outside.
Overall the hotel was good value, and very welcoming. It was nice to be away from the main hustle and bustle of Florence and close to the river.More
