We had a wonderful stay at MartinDago in late May, 2013. I wish I had snapped some photos of our room, because it was lovely: large, comfortable bed. Nice bedroom furniture and art, an updated bathroom (with fresh towels every day), and a private balcony overlooking an interior courtyard. Gabriele has tastefully decorated his home with interesting art and flowers. The location is awesome: less than a 5-minute walk to the Uffizi gallery on a street lined with great restaurants. All things considered, it was a pretty amazing deal. It was one of the nicest places we stayed during a two-week trip through Italy, and it was far-and-away the least expensive.

The real gem of MartinDago is the host, Gabriele. He is a bundle of energy, ready to help with anything we needed. He printed our museum tickets, offered to make us restaurant reservations, and called us a cab when it was time to leave. He offers a lot without seeming overbearing, which is a nice balance in a host.

If you're on the fence, I'd pay attention to the recent reviews and check out the website for a good picture of what you can expect. If we return to Florence, I will absolutely stay with Gabriele again. I will recommend it to friends and family as well.

Room Tip: we loved the green room!

First Trip Advisor needs to correct the address of this B&B. The B&B at Via De Macci is no longer in operation. Instead Gabriele has opened this new place with same name at CORSO DEI TINTORI 6. You couldn't have asked for better location. It is just a stone throw away from the river and close to all the sites and great night life hangouts nearby. There are only 3 rooms - 2 with private bathroom and 1 with shared bathroom. Being on the 6th floor it is very quiet (don't worry they have elevators). The website pictures are very accurate.
My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in May of 2013. Gabriele is a wonderful host with lots of interesting stories and extensive art collection. The rooms are clean, spacious and nicely decorated. I would highly recommend this place for couples and plan to stay again on our next visit to Florence.

My girlfriend and I had a fantastic stay at MartinDago. Gabriele was an amazing host and made us feel very comfortable. He helped us out with making dinner reservations and buying tickets to the Uffizi museum. It's always great to meet such lively and interesting people like Gabriele while traveling; one advantage of staying at a B&B instead of a hotel.
Also, the location is perfect! It's very walkable to all the attractions.

The trip advisor profile for this lovely little apartment style bed and breakfast is very misleading. MartinDago is now in a new location, and clearly much improved when you compare recent reviews with older ones.

It's ideally located, just a 5-10 minute from all you can see in a long weekend, very clean and airy and tastefully decorated, with lots of high ceilings and a very welcoming owner. If breakfast was a little more substantial I'd have given it five stars. We stayed in the yellow room which is the only one that's not en-suite. Our private bathroom was just town the corridor and beautifully tiled.

We stayed for just one night but would certainly consider a second stay.

I definitely recommend staying here for a few nights. The rooms are very spacious as is the shower. Gabrielle really makes you feel at home in his house. The breakfast is held in his own dining room which is adorned with copies of classical statues and has a fresco on the ceiling. It is extremely fresh and delicious. The location is also excellent - only a 3min walk from the Uffizi. It is a real bargain!

Room Tip: Room facing the courtyard was quiet despite it being a busy road and a Saturday night.
