travelled with my two twenty-something daughters and we shared a room at Elena's B&B for two nights. A cancellation allowed us a last minute booking - so lucky - perfect. Spacious, light airy room didn't feel like a dormitory at all. Breakfasts prepared with thought and care - even a specially early one on the day we left. I loved the garden - tried a hammock for the first time. And an easy walk downhill to cross the River Arno into the city
Elena and her mother are gentle, gracious people - kind and helpful - felt privileged to share their home

It was a wonderful place to stay at and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the city in a place relatively close to the sights. A quick bus trip would take you to the center and it was an amazing stay. I highly recommend staying here.

Ideally we wanted a place closer to the centre but were on a budget so opted to stay at Fiorenza B&B knowing beforehand that location wasn't its strong point. Getting to and from the city on the number 11 tram is easy though and you can also make a scenic trip into town by going through the Boboli Gardens to Palazzo Pitti which leads to the centre. I'd be wary of taxi's to and from though as the price varied from 8 euro's to 17 euro's depending on the driver.

The B&B itself is delightful and our room was lovely with a communal kitchen and garden but what really elevated this property above the standard was Elena and her mother who were both very pleasant. Elena left roses in our room once she discovered that me and my new wife were on our honeymoon and also gave us some cute keepsakes upon departure. She also made breakfast really interesting with some different ideas each morning such as fruit cocktails, custard or tomato quiches alongside the usual toast, cereals, croissants and fruit juices.

I'm often wary of Bed and Breakfast places as we've stayed at some before where the hospitality is overbearing and the owners want to sit and chat whilst all you want to do is escape to see the city. Elena gets the balance spot on by being very nice and accommodating and helpful but without ever overstepping the mark and being too distant or too overbearing.

Thank you again Elena.

My husband and I recently stayed at Elena's B&B and were absolutely delighted with our experience there. Elena is one of the most gracious hosts you will ever meet! Not only was the room decorated beautifully and was spotlessly clean, but the care given to her guests was fabulous. She provided a beautiful breakfast in a lovely room decorated in the way you would envision a room in traditional Florence to look like. The food looked like art and was displayed on lovely china. She took time with each guest to ensure they were set for the day with all the information they needed to get where they planned to go. She even took the time to draw a map of exactly where we were to catch the express bus for our day trip to Sienna and leave it on our breakfast plate the morning we went. At first you may think the location of her B&B is a little out of the way of the main tourist areas but the bus service was so easy to use once Elena told us which buses to use. If you like walking, its also an easy walk to the Duomo on a beautiful tree lined street. We enjoyed being in a residential neighborhood away from the business of the tourist areas. It felt much more quaint. If you are fortunate, you will also get to meet Elena's mother who is as charming as her daughter and helped us settle in upon our arrival. We definitely recommend her B&B and feel the value can't be beat!

My husband and I loved everything about Fiorenza B&B, from Elena's kind hospitality (she helped us even in advance by making reservations to the Accademia and Uffizi - so appreciated!), to the delicious breakfasts, spacious room, and quiet setting. So nice to return from a busy day in the city center to this welcoming retreat. Thank you, Elena!

My husband, 16 year old daughter and I stayed at Fiorenza B&B in July and had a wonderful stay. Both my husband and I have dietary restrictions and Elena did her best to accommodate us and prepared delicious breakfasts. Elena also provided a wealth of local information and went out of her way to make reservations for museums in advance, which was very helpful as this was our first time in Italy. We felt very much at home, were well taken care of and would all highly recommend this B&B for Elena's gracious hospitality.

We just came back from a 6 night stay with Elena at the Fiorenza B and B. The center of Florence is busy and noisy. The south side of the Arno is more residential and thus quieter. So if you want a peaceful night's sleep, stay in the south side of the Arno. Sure, it takes longer to get to and from town. But after a long day of sightseeing, you want to escape the people and noise. There is some traffic noise, but nothing like a city center.

The B & B is a short walk from a local bus stop to and from town. In the city, you have to walk a little further to catch a bus back into town. Once you learn to navigate the bus system, you feel like a native. Elena will help you figure out the bus system. With Google satellite view, you can see the street where the B & B is, and when you go down the street to the main street, Gelsomino, you can see the bus stops (tiny signs). On the normal map view, it shows you the bus stops. Then with the city bus web site, ATAF, you can look at schedules and other routes.
Even though Florence is a compact city, walking around the city center takes it toll on your feet and legs. So the more you take advantage of the bus system, you are helping your feet.
Taking the bus was more enjoyable then you would think.

You are not just staying in a B&B, you are staying at Elena's family home. We had a triple room. There was a small alcove for a coat rack, then a small room with a single bed, then bigger alcove room for luggage, then a bigger room with a double bed, a bathroom and a desk with a flat screen TV. Our daughter appreciated the privacy of having her own room. . Rooms in a typical European city are typically micro sized, so we liked having room to sprawl out. They have satellite service, so you get English news. Our Wi-Fi signal was weak in our room but better out in the eating area. Our tablet got a better signal vs. a smartphone. There are beautiful wood doors. There is a huge garden with a courtyard. You can also view the sunset from the front of the villa.

Breakfast was a delight, with croissants, pastry snacks, blood orange juice and sometimes she makes yummy mini-quiches. It is served in a sunny kitchen with a view of the garden.

Why stay at a normal hotel, when you can stay in a lovely home with a local?

One word of advice - the B & B is two blocks up from the main street. The first block is flat, but the second block is uphill. Going uphill with one rolling luggage is probably OK, but two will be a challenge. The sidewalk is narrow and cobblestone.
