“Lovely Penthouse Home in the Heart of Florence - Walk to Everything”
Reviewed September 30, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Delightful penthouse apartment in a quiet neighborhood with many local restaurants, and walking distance to the museums. Close to the Accademia.

3 bedrooms - (American bed description) 1 room with a king bed and en suite half bath. 1 room with 2 double beds, 1 room with a small twin bed. Hall bathroom (tub with hand shower) served two bedrooms. Separate shower was located off the kitchen. A bit unusual but worked well for our family. Wrap up in your towel and head for the shower. It was a good shower with plenty of on-demand hot water. Great air conditioning in the bedrooms and all other areas. Black out shades built into the windows provided good sleeping for jet lagged guests. Very quiet at night.

The living areas are very nice. Full living room with several sofas, dining area, TV area with separate seating, sun room with seating and enclosed, and finally - the beautiful penthouse balcony. It was partially covered which provided shade and rain protection. The views were amazing. This was a family home with extensive library and original art work that we truly appreciated. Wifi was good. Be sure to ask Alessandra about this lovely home and family history.

Full kitchen - microwave, full refrigerator, dishwasher and detergent!, dishes, cookware, glasses, coffee & espresso makers. Everything you need. Clothes washer with racks to dry items outside on sunny days. Be sure to bring #4 coffee filters with you if you want to make drip coffee. We could not find them in the local grocery stores.

Linens were very nice and the apartment was immaculate. Towels were plush and looked new. Many toiletries were available in the bathrooms and kitchen / laundry soap. We did replenish TP, soap, paper towels, etc. as needed.

Be sure to bring your 3 prong plug adapters / converters for charging. Hair dryer was provided (and it was a good one). Amazing steam iron and ironing board.

Elevator is essential to the 5th floor and do not forget to close all the doors when you depart the elevator or the other residents will have to walk up to close them in order to use the lift.

No need for a rental car here. 2 blocks to groceries, many restaurants and wine shops nearby. Alessandra provides instructions for parking a car in a nearby garage for EU 25 per day. No parking on site.

We have to commend Alessandra for providing a truly lovely experience in this very nice apartment. Antonio is the door man and speaks very little English, but very kind and tries to be helpful. There is a private suite located just outside the kitchen door if an additional bedroom, bath with a small efficiency kitchen is needed. We used that for a guest that spent 3 nights with us - it was great.

We plan on returning in 2017. A wonderful place.

“The only place I'll now stay in Florence”
Reviewed June 11, 2016 for a stay in November 2015

The location is perfect. It is close to everything but not in the middle of all the noise. We walked everywhere from the apartment and it is very close to one of our favorite places, San Marco.

The apartment is huge. Every room is lovely and very comfortable. The patio is stunning and the view is second to none. To top it all off, Alessandra is a wonderful host. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

“Great place to stay in Florence!”
Reviewed October 4, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We did a 6 day stay in Florence - husband and I - plus 2 young adult kids - 20 and 24 yrs.

Great location. Close enough to attractions without being in the "touristy areas". Just up the street from the Academia where Michelangelo's David is. Park across the street in the fFlorence University district..

3 bed/2 bth apt is spacious and nicely furnished. Rooftop Terrace with view of Duomo and city is spectacular. Nice restaurants nearby. Neighborhood feel!

Really a great value. I highly recommend this place.

“A special apartment in Florence!”
Reviewed May 15, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

My wife and I spent a week in this wonderful apartment. It is within easy walking distance of all of the best sites in central Florence. Our favorite part of the apartment was the large, expansive terrace that has a marvelous view of the Duomo. The apartment is nicely furnished, and it is quiet. (The streets and piazzas of central Florence can be quite noisy, so we would recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to be close to all the famous sites, but wants a quiet home base.) The owner, Alessandra, is very accommodating, and it was a pleasure to enjoy her hospitality.

This was a three-generation trip with my daughter and parents, ranging in age from 12 to 75. This apartment was perfect for us - spacious, well apportioned kitchen for cooking in, comfortable bedrooms and very centrally located near Piazza San Marco. The view was so stunning of the Duomo we couldn't believe it each day and night. Alessandra was very gracious.
