Stayed here for one night with my wife whilst on a whistle stop tour of northern Italy.
Booked the hotel at short notice so got a reasonable price.
The hotel itself is in a bit of a non-descript area on the outskirts of Florence but don't let that put you off.
The hotel is pleasant with helpful, curteous staff and the rooms are to a very high standard. The hotel offers a shuttle service to the centre of the city which runs until about 10pm on an evening (we didn't try the shuttle as we had out own car).
The only downsides for us:
1. The breakfast is an extra (room only),
2. There's a fee to use the Wi-Fi (Hilton could learn from other rival chains on that one),
3. Although a double room, the beds are singles which are pushed together.
The view from the hotel on the higher level (and at the front of the building) is great as you can see the old city.
The bar on the groundfloor is a pleasant place to while away some time with a drink.
Having made only a quick stop in Florence we are planning to make further visits and spend more time in the region and would definitely look to stay at the Metropole.More
